Chapter 22: Cleaning Up Garbage
“Lord Ron, have a drink.”
The next morning, Ron woke up to Moluna’s voice.
“Water?” Ron groggily accepted the glass.
His complexion was quite poor as if he’d been staying up for a month. If it weren’t for the system healing Ron’s injuries, he’d probably look completely battered by now.
Ron vaguely remembered using his teeth to bite the last part of the moonworm to death.
At that time, Ron couldn’t wield any weapons. Otherwise, he would have been swallowed by the moonworm. He touched his teeth, ensuring they were still intact, then breathed a sigh of relief. He didn’t want to see any bugs in the short term. He had enough days submerged in a sea of insects. Indeed, he had stayed in that special space for more than just a day or two.
Ron held the water cup, finally feeling a sense of returning to reality.
“How did you end up in my room?” He asked, puzzled, after taking a sip of water.
“Lord Ron, it’s already noon, so I’ve come to wake you up,” explained Moluna.
“Noon… already?” He paused for a moment, then quickly looked out the window.
At the same time, the system’s notification sound appeared in his ears.
【Congratulations on completing the advanced training. Your <Warrior Stage One> has now advanced to <Warrior Stage Three>.】
【Name: Ron】
【Strength Assessment: Warrior Stage Three, Teller of the Dead Stage One】
【Circle Fragments: None】
“You are now a seasoned warrior, capable of leading a hundred soldiers on the battlefield without any issues, but please, don’t be arrogant.”
As he straightened himself, Ron attentively observed the system’s data updates, feeling nostalgic. Despite the challenges, the speed of power advancement felt like rocket riding—a stark contrast to when he first arrived.
Ron was curious. Has anyone successfully endured these tasks and training? Getting stronger with each iteration should make it easier over time.
“By the way, where’s Lilian?” Ron suddenly remembered, not having seen her until now. “She should be the one waking me up.”
“Lilian is at the door,” Moluna replied, eyes on Ron’s water cup. “Seems she didn’t have time to wake you up.”
“At the door?” Ron put down the water cup and went over.
He found Lilian calmly sweeping with a broom, but the pile of corpses by the door caught his attention.
“What’s going on?” Ron looked shocked at the corpses.
“I’m cleaning up the garbage, Mr. Ron,” Lilian said matter-of-factly. “There was more hazardous waste from last night. Please forgive me for cleaning it up now.”
Burying the bodies seemed like a good idea to Ron, and Lilian promptly did so.
“So, who are these people?” Ron inspected the corpses.
“I’m not entirely sure, probably bandits,” Lilian casually replied.
“If they’re bandits, it’s just as Susu’ya anticipated,” Ron sighed.
“That’s a good idea, Mr. Ron. You’re smarter than I imagined,” Lilian nodded, burying the corpses.
Lilian then picked up a talisman-like object from a scorpion lady’s body.
“What’s this?” Ron hadn’t seen anything like it but instinctively felt it might be valuable. “Is it valuable?”
“It’s Vandal’s prayer talisman,” Lilian explained. “Apart from prayers, it can suppress witches’ powers.”
Lilian demonstrated its effect on Moluna, who mentioned her past unpleasant experiences with such talismans.
“If it upsets you, I won’t mention it next time,” Lilian said softly.
Ron suggested smashing the talisman, and Lilian promptly crushed it. Moluna confirmed feeling better afterwards.
“Is she better?” Ron asked Moluna.
“Much better, Lord Ron,” Moluna replied, poking the corner of her mouth.
