Chapter 25: Changing Tactics

“Go!” Loloan stood on a rock, brandishing the spear in his hand and emitting wild cries, much like a savage.

The Phylin tribe around Loloan also raised their spears, shouting, “Wow!!! Let’s go!”

After a week had passed, the entire Phylin tribe had fully recovered. Moreover, the Phylin tribe had now upgraded their weaponry. No longer wielding wooden spears, they had replaced them with the weapons of the previous bandit group. They would have also worn the bandits’ armour if not for the size mismatch.

Although it was unclear why the other bandits hadn’t taken advantage during this week, today, the Phylin tribe was gearing up to attack the next bandit group.

Ruthless! Cold-blooded! That’s the way of the Phylin tribe!

Expressionless, Moluna stood beside Loloan, rolling up her sleeves, ready for action. Her previously depleted magical powers had fully recovered within the week, and she was completely ready to show her prowess in the upcoming events.

Lilian stood quietly and said, “Mr. Ron, I wish you all good fortune in your battles.”

The bandit forces in the Wind Veil Basin had diminished somewhat. If one more nest was dealt with, Susuan might just bring the Firin tribe to settle on the ground. Reviving this Wind Bird Town was an urgent matter that cannot be delayed. Darn it, where would this fierce lord collect taxes from if there wasn’t even a town left? Her dream of streetlights wasn’t ending so soon.

“By the way, have you noticed that tree?” Before departing, Ron couldn’t help but glance into the distance.

In the direction he was looking, a colossal tree stood ever-present on the horizon, never vanishing. Even as night fell, this lush green tree persisted. That tree had only recently appeared, giving off an illusionary vibe, unlike something substantial.

“Mr. Ron, that’s the Mother Holy Tree,” explained Lilian. “Similar to the malevolent deity you encountered before, it’s also one of the objects of faith in the Bi-Color Realm.”

“It occasionally appears like this, almost like an illusion in people’s sight,” she also glanced at the Mother Holy Tree.

Lilian had often seen the Mother Holy Tree and wasn’t particularly surprised.

“But as a sight, it’s quite spectacular,” Ron sighed.

From afar, it looked like a colossal emerald, brimming with vitality, enveloping half the sky.

“Mr. Ron! Aren’t we leaving yet?” Loloan asked eagerly.

The iron spear in his hand was itching for action. The peace-loving Phylin tribe was ready to move out!

“You’re really eager,” Ron said helplessly, “Do you really want to get hurt that badly?”

He was sure that this time, visiting someone else’s stronghold, there would be casualties among the Phylin tribe as well. However, to be honest, it was miraculous that no one died last time. Ron wasn’t confident that everyone would return alive this time, either. Ultimately, it would depend on Moluna’s performance. After all, he hadn’t familiarised himself with the changes brought about by “Warrior’s Three Stages.”

After engaging in parallel resonance, too many things had become taken for granted, things he himself wouldn’t entirely pay attention to.

He couldn’t give a standard measure if you ask Ron to assess his strength. Everything could only be seen through practical experience.

“Scars are a warrior’s badge of honour! Mr. Ron! Do you even get it?” Loloan sneered. “And besides, we definitely won’t get hurt this time!”

But as soon as he said that, a berry thrown by Susuan hit him. “Idiot! Don’t glorify getting injured!”

“Mr. Ron, they’re counting on you for guidance!” Susuan said earnestly. “Most of them are pretty dim!”

“We’re not dim!” Loloan exclaimed.

“Right, right, we’re not dim!” Echoed the other Phylin tribe members.

Ron suddenly felt a lot of pressure. Taking care of these rowdy Phylin tribe members was quite challenging.

“I can’t read words, but I understand patterns!” Loloan said confidently. “And this isn’t a cave. What else could it be but a stronghold!”

Before them were numerous wooden fences and watchtowers, fortifying the bandit camp thoroughly. Unlike the previous bandit stronghold Ron had visited, this architecture made it seem difficult to breach.

“No wonder the Phylin tribe considered the previous bandit group they dealt with as the underdog; this camp had already set itself apart.”

“Can you read?” Ron looked at Loloan sceptically.

“I can’t read words, but I understand patterns!” Loloan said confidently.

Ron suddenly felt a lot of pressure. Taking care of these rowdy Phylin tribe members was quite challenging.

“Keep it down this time,” Ron gestured for quiet.

From the looks of it, the opposing side likely had bows and arrows. If they charged in recklessly, they would likely be wiped out. Ron didn’t believe the Phylin tribe members could survive and bounce back after being hit in the chest by an arrow. Further up the slope, Moluna clenched her fists, her face full of anticipation, practically screaming, “Watch me” without saying it.

“Calm down,” Ron said, “Even if you’re skilled, you can’t handle concentrated ranged attacks.”

Despite Moluna having plenty of magic, the physical form being attacked still endangered her life. He looked seriously towards the direction of the watchtower. “But it’s strange. Why isn’t anyone standing on the watchtower?”

If there’s no one on the watchtower, what’s the purpose of having it?

It’s unlikely that people in the Dual-Color Realm would know about strategies like the empty city ruse. In that case, Ron began to suspect if the opposing party were time travellers.

“Is the strongest warrior here?” Ron cleared his throat.

“Here!” Loloan responded without hesitation.

Besides him, who else could be the strongest warrior?

“You, come with me to scout,” Ron said.

Loloan didn’t hesitate for a second. He immediately grabbed his spear. “No problem!”

He was a different person now. The spear in his hand was made of iron! Things taken from the bandits were indeed useful!

“Keep it down…”

“No problem!”
