Chapter 19: Astonishing Test (Part 1)
In the Elemental Hall, as the name suggests, it is the gathering place of the eight major elements. Here, humans can maximize their affinity towards attributes.
Claude in a white robe, the lady named Mirose led Yuehai and Leia into one of the many rooms in the Elemental Hall. Inside, it was pitch black, with only the faint glow of luminescent stones in the corners.
At this moment, Mirose took out a white bead and gazed at Yuehai, saying.
“So, let’s begin by detecting the affinity for the earth element.”
“Yeah, um, may I ask what this is?”
“This is an elemental sphere. With the spells of our elementalists, it can detect the affinity for different elements. It’s an indispensable tool for determining whether someone has the potential to become a magician.”
“I see.”
“That’s great, Yuehai, my dear sister. I’m completely clueless about magic. My affinity with the eight major attributes is all below ten percent. Do you know, every girl has a dream of magic? You must seize the opportunity, don’t end up like me…” Leia’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Yuehai, her face filled with anticipation.
“And now I’ve become a massive, strong gorilla,” Yuehai silently quipped to herself. On the surface, she could only respond with a wry smile. As the results were about to be revealed, she wondered if Leia could still maintain her optimistic attitude.
“So, let’s begin.” Mirose released her right hand, and the elemental sphere above it unexpectedly floated in the air. After a silence of about ten seconds, the bead gradually emitted a faint yellow glow.
“This is…” Mirose became more and more shocked as she looked, speaking with a slight tremor.
“40% affinity for the earth element! How is that possible! Lord Laojeri said Miss Yuehai stood out particularly in light element affinity! … No, this can’t be. I must inform Lord Laojeri about this. Miss Yuehai, Miss Leia, please wait for a moment.”
“Alright, don’t worry about us. You go ahead.” Leia nodded, also realizing the importance of the matter. As she watched Mirose walk away, she looked at Yuehai as if she were seeing something extraordinary.
“40% affinity for the earth element, just a little more and you could enter the Earth-Element Constitution. There are only two or three people in the entire kingdom with that. Yuehai, you really hide your talents well.”
“I don’t know either.” Yuehai waved her hand, thinking to herself that the Great Crab only mentioned the possibility of being of the Holy Light constitution, but couldn’t assess the affinity for other elements. This test was remarkable; she had 40% affinity for the earth element, but she wondered about the affinity for other elements.
In the midst of her wandering thoughts, Mirose had already brought Laojeri into the room with brisk steps.
“First, show me the affinity for the earth element.” The unhesitating command prompted Mirose, who hadn’t even caught her breath, to quickly manipulate the elemental sphere suspended in the air.
A faint yellow light flickered once again, causing a slight twitch at the corner of Laojeri’s mouth, which quickly subsided as he spoke,
“Test the affinity for the water element next!”
“Yes, sir!”
Mirose hesitated no longer this time. The yellow light gradually dimmed, followed by a gentle blue glow emanating from the sphere!
“40% affinity for the water element! This… this…”
Mirose’s forehead broke out in sweat, not from excessive use of magic, but from the shock of the reality before her!
“Continue to the next one!” Laojeri’s eye twitched slightly this time. He had a vague premonition that this girl named Yuehai was not as simple as she seemed. However, as someone who had been involved in various industries for many years, the elder remained calm. This time, he was simply a little more expectant, a little more excited.
“Yes… Yes!” Mirose wiped the sweat from her forehead, extending the tip of her right finger to lightly tap the elemental sphere. Ripples appeared on its surface, then she withdrew her hand. Suddenly, with a bang, a ball of flame erupted on the surface of the elemental sphere. The intense heat made Yuehai quickly duck behind Leia.
“Sir… this is… 70% affinity for the flame element’s manifestation!”
“…” Laojeri was truly stunned this time, his gaze fixed on Yuehai as if she were a treasure. Startled, Yuehai, who had just peeked out, quickly shrank back.
“Change the elemental sphere, try again!”
“Yes!” This was also to guard against any malfunction of the elemental sphere. Such incidents had occurred before.
However, the results were obvious: Yuehai’s affinity for the three major elements was genuine.
“Next one!” Fortunately, Laojeri was aged and experienced, having weathered many storms. He could handle such a situation. However, Mirose and Leia beside him couldn’t bear it. They had never witnessed such a scene before. Yuehai’s affinity for the earth element was 40%, for the water element it was 40%, and for the fire element, it reached an astonishing 70%, the Flame Constitution!
Since the beginning of her memory, Mirose had never encountered such an anomaly, only hearing about it in reports about the Shadowstone. And she had a lingering feeling that the shock was far from over.
“Next one! Mirose, the Elementalist!” Laojeri’s second command snapped Mirose out of her reverie. She hurriedly apologized and then resumed manipulating the elemental sphere.
Buzz~
“Sir, affinity for the wind element, 40%!”
