Chapter 51 : Astonishing Secrets

“Captain, look!”

Marlon, with a solemn expression, pointed towards the gradually enlarging structure not far away, as well as the gigantic monster beside it.

The original iron rails were now completely devastated, with walls and fortresses suffering varying degrees of damage!

“Damn it!” Mages, who had remained composed, clicked his tongue coldly, feeling dissatisfied with his own negligence.

“Marlon, I’ll leave this monster to you to deal with. I’ll go and inspect the interior of the fortress.”

“Yes!”

Upon hearing his subordinate’s response, Mages swiftly darted into the fortress. After a quick survey revealed nothing out of the ordinary, he teleported once more and found himself in the vast underground space.

“The teleportation array is functioning properly, and there are no signs of the barrier being breached.”

Fortunately amidst the misfortune, Mages breathed a sigh of relief internally. However, he couldn’t forgive himself for such a lapse. He resolved to write a report of self-reflection to be submitted to the Duke upon his return.

After once again double-checking for anything unusual and confirming there was none, Mages teleported back outside the fortress with a single swift movement.

However, upon seeing that Marlon had still not defeated the monster, he couldn’t help but furrow his brow and said.

“Marlon, I believe I instructed you to handle this.”

“Yes, Captain! But this monster is strange. It hasn’t sustained any injuries, yet it’s in a state of shock.”

“Perhaps it’s too much of a stretch for it to evolve into a fifth-level monster, and the magical aura is extremely chaotic, which is why it’s attacking wildly in madness. However, we must thoroughly investigate where it came from. The rest of the matter is now in the hands of your First Legion.”

“Yes, Captain!” Marlon stood at attention, snapped into a standard military salute. Mages nodded, slowly ascending into the air with a resounding boom towards the encampment. As the Captain, he had to maintain a commanding presence within the army. So, even in situations like this, as long as the most critical matters were clarified, he would entrust the rest to his subordinates.

After watching Mages leave, Marlon glanced at the still convulsing monster on the ground, shaking his head in dismay.

“Let’s head back and regroup with the First Legion first.”

With that said, Marlon flew back at a steady pace in the direction he came from. After all, now that the crisis was averted, there was no need for him to rush.

A dazzling flash passed before Tyr’s eyes, and when he opened them again, the scene before him was completely different from before.

“This is…”

Tyr began to look around, and as he gradually realized the environment he was in, his eyes widened in astonishment, feeling exceptionally shocked!

Dragon Slayer’s expression was a mixture of emotions, but he also felt astonished by the environment before him.

“It seems we are currently suspended in mid-air.”

“Yeah, but what’s strange is that we’re not falling.” Tyr tapped his toe downward, feeling a sensation like a stone floor beneath his feet, despite there being nothing there.

But when he looked down, his expression suddenly changed. Following Tyr’s gaze, Dragon Slayer turned his eyes downwards, revealing a vast expanse resembling a city, as if an important day was approaching, and the people below were all very busy.

“This is…” Dragon Slayer furrowed his brow, showing no impression, while Tyr replied with a slightly trembling voice.

“The Duke’s Mansion… This is beneath Duke Cyril’s estate!”

As he spoke, a series of images flashed through his mind: the Oracle’s Book, underground tunnels, the deserted fortress, the formidable aura of a 【Emperor】-level powerhouse, the massive underground teleportation array. The Duke’s banquet…

Everything seemed to connect, and the ominous premonition he had previously now proved entirely true.

Dragon Slayer’s reaction speed was naturally not inferior to Tyr’s. When he heard Tyr say this was beneath Duke Cyril’s estate, all the feelings of unease dissipated.

“The Kingdom of Milik intends to reclaim the Oracle’s Book!”

“Unfortunately, it seems so.” Tyr furrowed his brow tightly. With such a large teleportation array, if the Kingdom of Milik were to launch an attack akin to a surprise assault, it would be a catastrophic war indeed.

And all this just to seize a sacred-grade artifact.

“What should we do now?”

“…Continuing to stand here probably won’t help. Let’s go back and assess the situation first.”

“Agreed.”

Tyr turned around, and in an instant, he vanished into the teleportation array. Meanwhile, under the same sky, Yuehai looked upwards but couldn’t discern any traces of teleportation.

The sky remained incredibly blue, yet the people on the ground were completely unaware of the impending disaster.

After the two emerged from the teleportation array, Dragon Slayer’s expression immediately changed slightly.

“What’s wrong?” Tyr asked.

“There was an ‘Emperor’ level strong individual who came here, but it seems like they have left.”

“Although receiving such intelligence is very disturbing, it’s fortunate that we just hid inside the teleportation array. Otherwise…”

Tyr’s brow remained furrowed, a series of information leaving his mind in chaos.

“But come to think of it, why were you able to break through this barrier?”

“Barrier? What barrier?” Tyr said, then suddenly with a bang, he neatly broke through the barrier that enveloped the teleportation array.

“You see, it’s broken again,” Dragon Slayer pointed to the almost transparent barrier, looking at Tyr as if observing some rare creature, and spoke again.

“Could it be that you have some innate immunity to barriers?”

“How could that be possible? I don’t have such good luck.”

“But this barrier was constructed by at least five Holy Realm Magicians, it’s a super protective barrier. Normally, someone like you would evaporate in an instant.”

“Well, Miss Dragon Slayer, then according to the script, I should have been dead beyond recognition, right?”

“It’s not just about being killed, even I would suffer serious injuries,” Dragon Slayer protested, shaking his little arm, then continued.

“Don’t be so reckless in the future. How could you act on your own without listening to the advice of your elders!”

“Now you’re calling yourself an elder again.”

“Stop nagging! Anyway, when I’m around, you have to listen to me!” Dragon Slayer punched Tyr in the chest with force, yet it was so soft that Tyr found it hard to imagine it was the fist that severely injured the Ogre King.

“I didn’t expect that forbidden technique would have such a severe impact on you,” Tyr said with concern, but Dragon Slayer shook her head with a bitter smile.

“This is just from undoing a ring…”
