Chapter 17: Words That Influence a Lifetime

After a night of special training, it was unexpectedly found that Tyr had truly mastered all body techniques and martial skills, demonstrating his mastery of multitasking to a level that even the deity Kaming marveled at.

“It’s truly eye-opening. In all my three hundred years of observing the Sigril Empire, I’ve never encountered a genius who could rival you in multitasking. You’re truly an anomaly!” Kaming shook his head in amazement, completely overturning his perception of Tyr. However, if Kaming had known that while Tyr was learning martial skills and techniques, he still had the capacity to manipulate the distractions of the Yuehai, he would have been at a loss for words once again.

Tyr at this moment is not proud because of Kaming’s astonishment, but is just looking at the branch in his hand, as if pondering the application of all the previous moves.

Martial techniques, body movements, and qi. All of these are imprinted in his mind, swiftly turning over.

“It’s truly miraculous. This is what it means to reach the Saint level, transcending the ordinary!”

Tyr murmurs to himself, his eyes sparkling as if a child has seen a beloved toy.

“Mr. Kaming, to teach me something so precious, I am truly, truly grateful to you.”

Tyr’s sudden gratitude left Kaming stunned for a moment. Ignoring the bewildered reaction of the large crab, Tyr continued speaking.

“In the past, I was ignorant, but now that I’ve integrated them, I realize the intricacies. These techniques, movements, martial skills, they are so precious! I, Tyr, won’t say anything else. In the future, Mr. Kaming, just call upon me whenever you need me, and I will surely respond!”

Kaming was even more astonished. After listening to Tyr’s bold declaration, he scrutinized him for a while before speaking.

“You seem to have gone too far in your training. Hurry, chant the Holy Light Spell with me a few times. Perhaps there’s still time to remedy this.”

“Mr. Kaming…” Tyr looked embarrassedly at the large crab, scratching his head in awkwardness. Remembering his various complaints and grievances towards Mr. Kaming before, Tyr felt somewhat ashamed. Now that he had experienced such miraculous martial arts firsthand, he had no doubt in his mind that Kaming was a master.

“Never mind, never mind. You’re making me feel embarrassed with all this gratitude. Since I’ve taught you what I should, there’s no debt between us. We probably won’t meet again unless by chance.”

Kaming shook his large pincers and then, as if remembering something, suddenly spoke up.

“Oh, by the way, let me tell you some news. It’s said that on the border between the Sigril Empire and the Vermilion Phoenix Kingdom, there’s a prestigious academy recognized by both nations called Avalon. Among the three sacred artifacts displayed at this academy, one has the ability to erase, control, and awaken the memories of others. It might be useful to you.”

This statement left Tyr momentarily stunned, then filled him with immense excitement. Besides his own physical condition, the thing he was most troubled by was his amnesia. Being unfamiliar with everything was certainly not a pleasant experience. If he could find a way to awaken his memories at this so-called Avalon, many mysteries, including the reason behind his physical changes, might be revealed.

“No need for thanks,” Kaming said as Tyr began to lower his head to express gratitude once again. He quickly waved his pincers dismissively and continued, “Helping me get out of here is already the greatest gratitude you could offer. Farewells are unnecessary. We’re not those kinds of people. If I’m lucky… Well, if we meet again in the future, it’ll be fate.”

Tyr didn’t expect Kaming to deliver such a profound monologue, and for a moment, he didn’t react. He had a sense that there was a change in Kaming’s emotions.

“Oh, by the way, Tyr. Let me tell you one last piece of wisdom… no… perhaps it’s more fitting to call it a warning.” Kaming’s face suddenly darkened, devoid of its usual nonchalant, angry, or joyful expressions. Instead, there was a change that felt extremely unfamiliar to Tyr.

Little did Tyr realize at that moment how profoundly the next sentence would impact his life! Even many years later, when he recalled the complex look in the large crab’s eyes, he could only smile helplessly.

At the same time, Kaming’s voice resounded once more.

“In this world, the most terrifying thing isn’t demons, nor gods, nor even dragons or elves. It’s humans. Humans are bottomless pits of evil, seemingly capable of devouring everything…”

Kaming’s voice was stern, as if he had a profound understanding of these words. With that, his entire body slowly ascended into the air. Tyr looked up as he watched Kaming fly out of the tall forest, feeling a tinge of nostalgia in his heart.

“Remember, one day you will understand the depth of meaning in this sentence.”

Before the words could fully sink in, Kaming’s figure had vanished beneath the scorching sun, leaving Tyr standing there alone. He muttered to himself the words Kaming had spoken earlier.

“The bottomless… evil?”

What kind of evil? Evil people? Or calamities? Tyr didn’t understand, but he silently noted down the sentence. Since it was spoken by Mr. Kaming, it couldn’t be wrong.

“Anyway, it means I shouldn’t be without caution towards others.”

Tyr ultimately arrived at this temporary conclusion.
