Chapter 41: Yusheng Tower
Descending Divine Flow, Boundary Break.
Buzz~ Tyr’s hand flashed with black light, and a transparent blade swiftly slashed out. Dragon Slayer snorted coldly, intending to smash it with a punch, but found her strength rapidly draining. As the transparent blade approached, the formidable aura created by the water flowing behind Dragon Slayer also began to diminish rapidly. She paled in shock, retreating instead of advancing, immediately creating distance from the transparent blade. Seizing the opportunity, Tyr agilely darted into another nearby forest and disappeared.
Dragon Slayer breathed a sigh of relief when the blade disappeared, but Tyr had already vanished without a trace. Even if Dragon Slayer used her intuition to lock onto his position at this distance, it would be difficult to catch him in the end. Moreover, his move was too mysterious; Dragon Slayer didn’t dare to rashly pursue him again.
“Damn it, Tyr, when did you still have this trick up your sleeve?”
Dragon Slayer felt indignant and stomped her foot fiercely, causing the ground to immediately shatter.
This time Dragon Slayer suffered a loss without explanation; Tyr probably won’t have a good time either.
As the self-introductions on the Yuehai side concluded and everyone became somewhat acquainted, Constantine suggested that they all visit the Yusheng Tower in District Nine. By doing so, they would become more familiar with it, and the idea immediately gained unanimous approval. A group of about a dozen people then boarded a flying train and headed towards District Nine in grand fashion.
Tyr himself naturally boarded the flying train from another station. After all, District Nine was not far from District Eleven. With laughter and chatter, Tyr and the others from Yuehai had already arrived in a rapid journey.
“I heard on Avalon TV that District Nine specializes in fashion because it houses the fashion, makeup, and drama clubs, so all the storefronts here are related to these. Correspondingly, there are also many beautiful women who come to District Nine.” Although Constantine’s introduction was good, his motives were questionable. However, being able to familiarize oneself with the entire Avalon in just a few days was quite impressive. In that regard, Constantine was indeed a genius. Perhaps joining the news department would also be a good choice.
“Yusheng Tower occupies eleven plots from 26 to 36 on Development Street, which is already quite vast for just over two thousand people. However, because everyone studies a wide range of subjects, the facilities in the building are also very comprehensive, with almost everything you could imagine.” Constantine, somehow privy to this information, began enthusiastically introducing the details even before the group arrived at Yusheng Tower, saving Yuehai and the others from having to do much research.
“What’s that strange carriage driving on the avenue?” Neruko suddenly asked, and Constantine smirked before responding.
“This is a much smaller powered vehicle compared to those carrying tens of thousands of people. It doesn’t require tracks to be laid down. Although it’s much slower than the trains, it’s convenient. We can hop on now and avoid the hardship of walking on foot,” Constantine explained with a smirk.
“I see, so even Avalon has these things!” Neruko said, looking puzzled. She clearly didn’t fully grasp it, but she couldn’t help but marvel. Claude nodded slightly in agreement.
“This is indeed a very interesting invention. With this, many tasks can be saved time on.”
“However, if people rely too much on this type of transportation and stop using their own legs for walking, their mentality might become lazy. From this perspective, I’m not very fond of it,” Diaz’s argument was reasonable. Indeed, once people become dependent on something, they can become very lazy, which is fatal for warriors.
Although there are pros and cons, it is ultimately a product of progress. Who wouldn’t want to try something new? The group immediately hopped on the motorbike and, led by Constantine, arrived at the Yusheng Tower.
As the name suggests, Development Street is a street that is still under construction. Once fully completed, the mayor of the Ninth District will naturally give this street an appropriate name.
In reality, Development Street is established for Class Nine, and the surrounding buildings are all related to magic practitioners and warriors, rather than clothing and makeup stores.
Perhaps due to its recent construction, there aren’t many students here. Instead, there is more coming and going of some original residents living in the academy and construction workers. When the powered vehicle carrying Yuehai and the others arrived at the entrance of Yusheng Tower, everyone couldn’t help but exclaim in awe. Avalon indeed spared no expense. Just one class of new students could establish such a magnificent building. Its red exterior resembled flames. Under the sculpted gate with twin dragons welcoming guests, Yuehai and the others cast their gazes inside. The entire Yusheng Tower spanned nearly three kilometers horizontally, extending on both sides until it turned at a right angle, forming a concave shape. In the center of the concave shape stood a towering clock tower, and the huge clock pointed to ten twenty.
“How are we going to walk through all of this?” Neruko’s exclamation brought everyone back to reality. This excessively large Yusheng Tower needed to accommodate over two thousand students in Class Nine. If they were spread out a bit, the area didn’t seem too vast. However, finding someone without the aid of magic stones would be quite challenging.
“Let’s go inside,” Diaz nodded slightly to Claude and the others. Everyone was curious about Avalon’s educational facilities.
The four guards standing at the entrance were solemn and dignified. They watched as Yuehai and the group of about a dozen students approached. Instead of blocking the entrance, they stood still and allowed them to enter and exit freely.
Just as everyone was puzzled, Damiyala spoke up.
“Perhaps our faces were already noted by the guards after we were assigned to our classes earlier.”
“Wow, these guards have amazing memory skills,” muttered Arena. In response, Wind Slash Ghost chuckled and said.
“In Avalon, if you don’t have a bit of skill, you really can’t stay.”
Yuehai naturally heard this. It was indeed true. Apart from construction workers, almost everyone here was either a student or had one or two special skills. These guards clearly had exceptional memory abilities. However, this didn’t mean their abilities were limited to just that. Their strength was likely much higher than that of the students.
The ground outside Yusheng Tower was paved with anti-slip fine stone tiles, each measuring one meter square. Except for the magic ball playground, which was set on grass, the rest of the area was covered with these red and white fine stone tiles, giving the perimeter of Yusheng Tower a uniform appearance.
“Of course, there are naturally quite a few people who thought to come early to visit Yusheng Tower. At this moment, just with a casual glance, one could see several groups of people. Just as Claude and the others were about to enter the building, Tyr’s voice came from the entrance.
“What a coincidence, you’re here too?”
When Leia saw Tyr appear, she couldn’t help but darken her expression and stepped forward, slightly shielding Yuehai behind her. This action made Tyr, keenly perceiving Leia’s intentions, feel helpless. It seemed he was indeed being regarded as a dangerous individual.
