Chapter 1: Miss Silver Dragon Wants Me to Confess
They found some clean clothes and took turns washing up—one in front, one behind. They didn’t shower together because they didn’t want to engage in vigorous activity after breakfast, which was bad for their bodies and could cause stomach problems.
After the shower, shedding the fatigue and exhaustion of the past five days, the couple comfortably climbed into bed. They had intended to catch up on sleep and rest.
However, being tired and feeling sleepy were two different things. As they lay in bed now, they only felt the fatigue in their bodies but had no desire to sleep.
Perhaps it was because of their recent “separation,” neither of them wanted to spend the first few hours of their reunion sleeping.
On the bed, the couple’s positions were surprisingly similar. They leaned against the headboard, hands folded on their abdomens, with a large and a small teddy bear placed between them.
Rosvitha barefoot, stared at her delicate and exquisite feet, occasionally curling her toes, as if to pass the time. Or perhaps she was waiting for Leon to initiate a topic.
As time ticked away, Rosvitha glanced at the wall clock—it was already nine o’clock. If they didn’t say something soon, the morning would slip away.
She glanced at the Dragon Slayer beside her, who was staring expressionlessly at his feet—only he wasn’t looking at his own but at Rosvitha’s.
Well, it seemed impossible to rely on him to start a conversation.
Rosvitha stretched her legs and lightly tapped Leon with her cold feet. “What’s up?” Leon lazily replied, but his gaze never left Rosvitha’s feet.
“Foot fetish.”
“……I’m not.”
“If you’re not, then why have you been staring at my feet?”
“Then where else can I look?” Leon shrugged helplessly.
Oh, that’s true.
The queen’s room adopted a minimalist style, without any unnecessary decorations. And Leon was tired and couldn’t sleep.
Instead of wasting time staring at the dull and monotonous decor, he might as well admire his fake wife’s feet to refine his taste.
Was this called a foot fetish?
No, it wasn’t.
This was called spending time on “feet”—no, spending time on the edge.
Rosvitha let out a soft hum, lifted her leg, and placed it on Leon’s leg. Her soft calf wasn’t particularly cold, it was smooth and delicate, rubbing against Leon’s skin, quite comfortable.
But Leon wasn’t buying it.
He immediately withdrew his leg—then pressed it against Rosvitha’s leg.
Rosvitha raised an eyebrow, glared at Leon, then turned sideways and used her other leg to press against Leon’s leg.
An upper and lower sandwich formation.
Oh, getting feisty, huh?
Well, General Leon would naturally play along to the end.
He also turned sideways, facing Rosvitha, then stacked his other leg on top.
The upper bodies of the couple were nose to nose, breathing in sync, chests pressed against each other, but their four legs were twisted into a pretzel, entangled together.
Leon smirked triumphantly. “I win, my leg’s on top.”
The queen snorted coldly. “Don’t celebrate too soon. Who said we could only use legs?”
Leon blinked, wondering if this dragoness had some other trick up her sleeve.
Just as he was perplexed, he saw that silver tail rise high behind her, then with a snap, it struck Leon’s top leg.
Leon winced in pain, gritting his teeth.
Rosvitha chuckled uncontrollably.
She reached out and cupped the Dragon Slayer’s face, pretending to look affectionate. “See, honey, having a tail is so convenient. Let me get you one too, okay?”
Leon kicked his leg, untangling the twisted “pretzel” and turned away, lying flat.
“No need.”
“Tch, forget it then,” Rosvitha retorted.
She also turned around, holding her own tail, proudly flicking the tip with her fingers.
After a while, Rosvitha asked, “By the way, you escaped from the Empire, so you must have come back here for me, right?”
“I’m already lying on your bed. Doesn’t that answer your question?” Leon replied.
“I don’t want your rhetorical answer. I want a straightforward one,” Rosvitha insisted, dropping her tail and straightening up to look at Leon. “Did you go through all that trouble to escape the Empire just to come back to me?”
Leon thought for a moment, then replied firmly, “No.”
The queen frowned. “Then why?”
“To find our daughter.”
The next moment, the large teddy bear on the bed was pressed onto Leon’s face.
“Someday, I’ll forge your mouth into the toughest armor in the world!”
“Then I’ll use your mouth to forge the weapons for that armor!”
The couple on the bed started playfully wrestling.
After laughing and playing for a while, Leon moved the teddy bear away from his face.
“Actually, your previous guess was correct. The Empire does have a cooperation agreement with Constantine.”
Upon hearing this, Rosvitha wasn’t particularly surprised. She just sat beside Leon, hugging the teddy bear in her arms, and softly said, “So, the mad male dragon really did collaborate with humans…”
Leon nodded. “Yes, and his true purpose in attacking your Silver Dragon Temple was actually to eliminate me. The Empire knew I survived the assassination attempt three years ago. If I returned to the Empire, I could potentially uncover their secrets, so they had to get rid of me.”
“But… What were they collaborating for? And how long has this collaboration lasted?” Rosvitha inquired.
“I’m not sure about that. My master said we needed to uncover the Empire’s conspiracy, but we couldn’t all stay in the Empire. I had to return to the Dragon Clan. This way, not only could my safety be ensured, but I could also uncover the truths hidden by the Empire.”
Leon explained, “My master is investigating within the Empire, while I gather intelligence from the Dragon Clan. By working together, we exchange information every three months at the cave where my master used to hide.”
Listening to Leon and his master’s plan, Rosvitha raised her eyebrows. “The timing and location for exchanging information don’t seem like something you came up with yourself, do they?”
Leon grinned. “We’re all one family, so why bother distinguishing between ‘yours’ and ‘mine’?”
A flush of red spread across Rosvitha’s face as she lightly tapped Leon’s chest with the teddy bear. “Stop being shameless. Who said we’re family?”
After a pause, Rosvitha seemed to suddenly realize something, and her blushing face immediately turned cold.
“Oh, I see now. So, Casmode, if you weren’t investigating the conspiracy between the Empire and Constantine, you wouldn’t have come back, right? That’s what you mean, right? Isn’t it?”
Leon blinked in confusion, wondering why the great mother dragon was still nitpicking and throwing tantrums like this, even after ten months of pregnancy. He glanced at Rosvitha, whose beautiful silver eyes were filled with resentment.
Leon’s mind stirred slightly, and he tentatively said, “Mother dragon, you don’t really… miss me, do you?”
If Leon were to attend a job interview, his resume would list three things under the “Special Skills” section:
First, dragon slaying.
Second, being stubborn.
Third, asking obvious questions.
But as the saying goes, there are two sides to every coin. Compared to Leon, Rosvitha was not one to be outdone.
“Heh, miss you? It’s just that the daughters miss you. No matter how good of an excuse I make up, they’ll see through it sooner or later. That’s why I wanted you to come back. And you dare say it’s because I miss you, how absurd.”
Leon’s mouth almost reached the sky in exasperation. “Okay, okay, it’s all for the daughters.”
After exchanging a few more retorts, Leon noticed that the mother dragon’s resentful look hadn’t completely disappeared. Thinking he should earnestly respond to her previous question, he said, “If everything settles after I deal with the traitor, I think… I will still come back.”
He paused for a moment, then quickly added, “But don’t get me wrong. Saying I’ll come back doesn’t mean I’ll stay forever. Occasionally, I’ll still have to go back to the Empire to visit my master, mistress, and the donkey. Anyway… as long as we don’t raise suspicions with the daughters, right?”
He explained his actions like a lovesick teenager in the throes of adolescent angst, clumsily and earnestly, yet not wanting the other person to feel the burning passion and sincerity smoldering in his heart. Because that wouldn’t be cool.
Rosvitha looked at Leon, observing his desperate attempt to express his inner feelings while being constrained by his pride from saying them outright.
Sigh, he’s just too young. I won’t hold it against him.
“Oh, I see,” Rosvitha responded lightly.
“You understand… what?” Leon asked.
You understand nothing.
Don’t pretend to understand!
Rosvitha chuckled and then leaned slightly forward, her hands resting on the bed, her body leaning towards Leon’s face. She looked into his dark eyes and softly said, “To put it simply… you can’t bear to be without me, right?”
The Dragon Slayer’s heart skipped a beat. He quickly grabbed the teddy bear next to him and placed it between himself and Rosvitha.
“Absurd! It’s more absurd to say I can’t bear to be without you than it is for you to say you can’t bear to be without me!”
“Is that so? Well, then you better hold back. Don’t you dare accidentally open your heart to me, or confide in me… or, worse yet, confess your feelings. Otherwise, I might just…”
“Might just what?”
“I might just reject you harshly~ Imagine how pathetic you’ll look when I reject you and you end up crying~”
Leon squinted his eyes. “Just you wait, mother dragon. Even if it’s the end of the world, even if the universe collapses, you’ll never hear me open my heart to you, confide in you, or… confess.”
Leon just jinxed himself.
Their pride is just getting in the way at this point! Just admit it you two!
