Chapter 81: The third round of the competition begins!
After hastily cleaning her arms, Yuehai climbed out of the bath, resisting a great temptation. She quickly found her clothes and began dressing. Having learned from past experiences, Yuehai’s choice of clothing now focused on easy removal, ensuring that she could quickly alleviate any physical reactions with just a few movements.
“However, speaking of which, who on earth set up a large bath here? While I’m very grateful to that person, I almost died from excessive blood loss because of it.”
Yuehai muttered to himself, indulging in the spectacle was nice, but seeing too much would indeed make one more restless. Yet, you couldn’t touch it; could there be anything sadder than this?
No, no, thinking like this, I might end up tirelessly using this body just to peep, and then what’s the difference between me and a pervert? Yuehai solemnly declared that she was just a bit lecherous, but definitely not a pervert. Clearly, Yuehai was unaware that admitting to this brought her closer to perversion.
Dang dang, suddenly a crisp metallic clang came from nearby. Yuehai turned her head towards the sound and saw a small, delicate bracelet rolling towards her.
“What is this…” Yuehai crouched down to pick up the bracelet. Suddenly, a strange image flashed through her mind, and she shuddered. When she came to her senses, a green-haired girl was already standing in front of her.
“Sorry, miss, this is my bracelet. Could you return it to me?”
“Of course.” Yuehai handed over the bracelet somewhat absentmindedly, yet her mind continued to dwell on the fleeting image from earlier, both familiar and unfamiliar.
“Thank you.” The green-haired girl lifted her long skirt slightly and performed a standard courtesy. Yuehai reciprocated naturally and then asked, “What is this bracelet?”
“Retrospect.” The girl smiled slightly and slowly put the bracelet on her wrist.
“Retrospect…” Yuehai furrowed her brows, another name both familiar and unfamiliar. “Can you tell me your name?”
“Me?”
“Yes.”
“I am Lajess T. Jallinia.”
“Lajess…”
“So, may I leave now?”
“Oh, sorry for bothering you. Please feel free.”
“No problem, I’ll disturb you all in return.” Lajess smiled faintly, bowed once more, and gracefully walked out of the changing room under Yuehai’s gaze.
“Lajess…” she murmured to herself, but Yuehai still couldn’t recall who this name belonged to. It was very familiar, probably someone she had heard of recently. Unfortunately, Yuehai wasn’t very attentive to things outside of herself, so she tended to forget many names in the next moment.
Dong, dong, dong~ The crisp sound echoed from the shadowstones installed in various corners. This was the alarm indicating that the break time was over. All relevant personnel promptly and orderly exited the rest building. Originally, there were two thousand people bustling around, but now only two hundred remained. Although the atmosphere was still tense and solemn, the commotion had clearly diminished.
On this side of the stage, Laogeri had just finished narrating the turmoil in the capital, departing slowly amidst applause.
Immediately, the male and female hosts strode up. Among them, the male host, Charles, spoke first.
“Mr. Laogeri’s narration was truly vivid and captivating, as if one were there oneself, making it hard to tear oneself away. I was listening by the side, utterly enchanted, only regretting that I wasn’t born centuries earlier to witness those magnificent epic chapters, the heroic spirit of those characters. It’s truly lamentable…”
“Charles, what nonsense are you spouting again?” The female host, Siva, next to him, looked disdainful, even taking two steps back.
Charles coughed awkwardly and glared at Siva, saying.
“Don’t you know that phrases with four characters are idioms? I’m just teaching you how to effectively use elegant language to improve your cultivation.”
“Well… Charles, you dummy, is that also an idiom?”
“Um…”
“Hahaha,” the audience burst into laughter, one by one trying to mock Charles with four-character idioms. This only made Charles even more embarrassed. He coughed heavily and continued.
“Don’t laugh. We’ve bid farewell to Mr. Laogeri, and now it’s time for the third round of competition. What they need is applause. Come on, tell me, where is the applause?”
The audience clapped enthusiastically, and amidst the applause, one hundred magicians and one hundred warriors gradually stepped forward. Amidst the cheers, Charles raised his voice even louder through the amplification stone.
“So, next, let me explain the rules of the third round of the competition, the rules of the duel!”
