Shut up, malevolent dragon! I don’t want to have any more children with you V2C31

Chapter 31: Can you help me open the door?

After Isabella’s visit, Leon didn’t see the legendary grandmother for a week.

Leon wondered if the old Dragon King couldn’t find his way to his granddaughters’ home and got lost?

Rosvitha said that dragons with the same bloodline and power could vaguely sense each other’s positions, so there’s no such thing as getting lost.

The queen then asked, “Why have you been mentioning my grandmother so much lately? Are you anxious to meet the parents?”

General Lei waved his hand skillfully and denied, “I just want to see what kind of dragon can produce such a strange mother dragon as you.”

Rosvitha couldn’t be bothered to argue with him.

The couple waited day after day for the grandmother’s visit.

Meanwhile, they continued to send out scouts and scouts to gather information on the territory of the Crimson Flame Dragon Clan.

If the situation there stabilized slightly, they would immediately set out to find the trusted one by Constantinople.

Of course, Leon didn’t idle away his time while waiting.

He began to study the “Martial Arts Manual” that his master gave him when they exchanged information a few days ago.

“The Gate of Nine Prisons.”

Leon sat cross-legged in the backyard practice field, with the pastries that Mun had just brought him placed beside him.

The little dragon girl wanted to play with her dad for a while, but when she saw her dad earnestly studying a book she couldn’t understand, she left the pastries behind and obediently ran off to play with the maids.

As his daughter grew day by day, she became more and more sensible, and General Lei felt doubly gratified.

He lowered his head and flipped open the first page of “The Gate of Nine Prisons.” The preface of this book contains some of the author’s inspiration and the background of the era in which this technique was developed.

“The legend goes that Hell has nine layers, each representing different sins of humanity. For these different sins, the guardians of Hell also have different physical punishments.”

“Only sinners who endure the nine layers of Hell’s trials and complete their redemption have the chance to pass through the deepest layer of Hell, returning to the mortal realm or… even reaching Heaven.”

“At that time, those who successfully traverse the nine layers of Hell are like being reborn from the Nirvana fire. Relying solely on their physical bodies, they can be invincible, undefeated…”

Reading these prefaces, Leon curled his lips and muttered to himself, “The title is intimidating, and the background introduction is even more so. In short, mastering this technique, even without magic, one can surpass human limits in physical strength.”

The ancestors who created various magics, illusions, or body techniques always liked to leave some mythical and legendary things in the prefaces of such ancient books, to show how amazing their techniques were.

What’s more deadly is that this narrative style is still highly praised by the mainstream today. People enjoy and eagerly analyze the mythical stories concocted by the ancestors, and some even derive religions and beliefs from them.

In the Dragon Slayer Academy, a separate major has even been opened for this purpose, specifically for studying the myths and legends left by ancestors in magical scriptures.

Leon took this major during his academic period and graduated with full marks. The professor in charge of the major felt that Leon was a genius in this regard, so when Leon graduated, he repeatedly begged Leon to stay at the academy and help them decipher more myths and legends, explore the mysteries of human history together, and salvage forgotten treasures left in the river of history, and so on.

Leon said, “Uncle, are you kidding me? I chose this major just to learn more different types of magic. As for those allegories, myths, and so on that you mentioned… I just wrote a few lines of comments offhandedly.”

“Writing a couple of thoughts casually” “Graduated with full marks”

If Rebecca had been in the same class as the captain back then, she would probably have realized sooner that he’s a tough guy who can bluff his way out of anything.

After reading the preface, Leon flipped to the table of contents.

Just like when he taught Noia, he first looked at the table of contents. If he felt it was knowledge he already mastered, he’d mark it with green; uncertain knowledge was marked with yellow; and completely unknown knowledge was marked with red.

This learning method might not be effective for others, but for geniuses like Leon and Noia, it was really efficient.

After scanning the table of contents from top to bottom, Leon flipped to a position near the middle towards the back.

The last sentence on this page read:

“At this point, your physical strength should meet the following standards (meeting any one of them is sufficient):

– Being able to maintain steady breathing for more than twelve hours despite being severely injured and near death;

– Matching the speed of a Dragon King in human form;

– Significantly enhanced self-healing ability compared to before practicing the Body Technique;

– Able to fight continuously for more than five hours.”

Looking at these reference standards, Leon pursed his lips and shook his head, “Meeting any one is acceptable? Then I should… meet all of them, right?”

Three years ago, when Victor pierced Leon’s heart, and he was imprisoned by the Silver Dragon Clan, he persisted for far more than twelve hours; despite not being in his peak physical condition, he sparred with Rosvitha and caught up to her, known for her speed among the Silver Dragon Clan, in his bloodied state; as for self-healing ability, during the days when he and Rosvitha clashed at the slightest disagreement, as long as she let him rest for a few days, he could make her taste bitter consequences the next time they turned in assignments.

As for the last point, engaging in continuous combat for over five hours, General Lei certainly had more authority to speak.

Whether it was dragon slaying or ‘riding dragons,’ he could engage in combat for over five hours straight.

The former was taught well by the teachers at the Dragon Slayer Academy;

The latter was taught well by Professor Melkvi.

In short, Casmode was a good student!

“Meeting these standards, I can officially start practicing the Gate of Nine Prisons.”

Leon flipped to the next page, which detailed the Gate of Nine Prisons.

“The body technique ‘Gate of Nine Prisons’ divides the human body into nine stages, represented by different ‘gates.'”

“The first gate, the Steel Gate—wait, what gate?!”

Leon thought he had read it wrong, so he put down the book and rubbed his eyes vigorously before looking again.

Sure enough, he hadn’t misread it.

“Caw~~Caw~~”

Two crows flew overhead, and their cries perfectly represented Leon’s current state of mind.

No, seriously, your preface was all about Hell and Heaven, making it all so grand.

But why did you suddenly come up with such an abstract thing when it comes to the serious part?

Although it wasn’t the organ Leon had in mind, he couldn’t resist this sudden pun.

“No wonder it’s from my master. Even the secret scrolls he found at the risk of his life are so abstract.”

Leon took two deep breaths, adjusted his mindset, and continued reading.

Fortunately, the names of the later gates were quite normal, without any strange puns, which relieved Leon.

But when he saw the name of the last gate, his fingers hesitated slightly as he flipped through the book, his eyes fixed on those simple two words, murmuring, “Death Gate.”

Leon’s pupils trembled slightly. “Sounds like a move where you harm the enemy by hurting yourself…”

Shaking his head, he refocused his thoughts. He couldn’t train to the last gate yet; he had to master the preceding eight gates first.

“So, the method to unlock the first gate is…”

Leon continued flipping through the book until he found the corresponding content.

“To unlock the first gate, one needs to rely on external force, preferably someone trustworthy and possessing the strength of a Dragon King…”

“Hiss… Dragon King… Dragon King…”

He muttered to himself, and a name naturally sprang to his lips.

“Rosvitha?!”

    So Leon is basically learning the Eight Chakra Gates technique that Rock Lee and Might Guy from the Naruto franchise use, only with an extra ninth gate. Talk about difficult but awesome.
