Reincarnated Ice-Cold Young Lady, Don’t Let Them Stick to You V2C62

Chapter 62: Get Better!

The nutritious lunch that Yun’er made was indeed very nutritious. Spinach, celery, napa cabbage, celery, cilantro, and cabbage.

Add in a sandwich cookie, and with one bite, it was filled with love.

Looking across the table, it was all green vegetables.

This made Ye Zhibai momentarily think they were raising rabbits at home.

But there were no rabbits in the house.

Only a weak Ye Zhibai.

Yun’er brought out a bowl of plain millet porridge, took off her apron that said “LoveSister,” and crossed her arms over her chest.

Her explanation for this table of “delicacies” was extremely well thought out!

“When you’re on your period, it’s not good to eat greasy food. Sister, you’ll have to bear with it for the next two days.”

“There’s nothing to bear.”

What’s there to bear?

Ye Zhibai had experienced dinners without meat before.

There were even times when not only was there no meat, but no vegetables either—the table was completely empty!

So this was nothing.

Besides, Yun’er’s plain boiled napa cabbage was fragrant and slightly sweet—it wasn’t any worse than meat dishes.

Suddenly,  Ye Zhibai smelled something delicious coming from across the table.

She stopped chewing her cabbage and stared blankly.

Yun’er, unbelievably, was biting into a crispy, golden-fried chicken leg.

What the heck, plain boiled cabbage…

Why does it suddenly not smell good anymore?!

With tears in her eyes, Yun’er took a fierce bite of the chicken leg, her expression filled with both pain and determination!

Ugh, Sister, didn’t you say yesterday that I should put on a little weight? Alright! Yun’er listened to you. I’ve always been afraid of getting fat, so I didn’t dare eat fried foods. But for the sake of your request, I’m giving it my all!”

“Honestly, you don’t need to go that far, it’s fine!”

I bet you’re just trying to make me jealous!

Laughably, Ye Zhibai didn’t feel the least bit unbalanced.

Not only did she not feel unbalanced she felt quite calm.

Because~ compared to her, Guang Yu was far more devastated by today’s meal!

The little fox had left happily to eat, but upon seeing the table full of greens, she hung her head and said she was going back to her room to eat her stored food.

Ye Zhibai: Alright.

If you feel worse than me, then I’m at peace.

The joys and sorrows of humans and gods do not connect.

But building joy upon the suffering of a god is a proper, well-reasoned, and highly commendable behavior.

Ye Zhibai had no idea that once she started eating greens, it would last three whole days.

And that also meant…

The visit from Aunt Flo* lasted three full days!

[*” Aunt Flo (大姨妈, dà yímā) – A Chinese euphemism for menstruation, widely used as a casual, light-hearted way to refer to one’s period. ]

She didn’t even want to recall those three days anymore.

In her past life, she had dreamed of lying in bed for three days straight, becoming a carefree little lazybones, lounging with the sunrise and resting with the sunset.

Now that goal had indeed been achieved.

But she never thought it would come through the agony of menstrual cramps!

The only thing to be grateful for was probably Yun’er’s behavior during that time.

Over those three days, the most Yun’er did when visiting Ye Zhibai’s room was gently massage her belly, or give her back and legs a light hammering.

Nothing too extreme!

This made Ye Zhibai feel incredibly touched and relieved.

She thought, Yun’er understood my pain and didn’t take advantage of me—this, I am immensely grateful for!

However… as relieved as she felt, there was still something that worried Ye Zhibai a bit. Yun’er’s excellent behavior over those three days wasn’t entirely consistent.

The first night, Yun’er acted completely normal, saying a proper goodnight and going back to her room to sleep quietly.

The second night, Yun’er hugged her pillow, hesitated for a long time, but eventually bit her lip, stomped her foot, and returned to her room to sleep again!

On the third night, which was the last night, Yun’er also went back to her room.

But before she did,  She made a rather strange request to Ye Zhibai.

She asked Ye Zhibai to lie on her stomach, lift her legs, and wiggle her feet.

Ye Zhibai thought it was strange… but she was very familiar with the pose.

Guang Yu usually liked to lie down like that when she ate, so Ye Zhibai had seen it often and was pretty good at mimicking it!

Posing was no problem.

But suddenly, Ye Zhibai heard the sound of a camera shutter!

Yun’er quickly pulled out her phone camera, aiming the lens at Ye Zhibai’s delicate, snow-white legs and feet. Then—snap, snap, snap—several quick shots in a row!

But that wasn’t all. She turned the camera toward Ye Zhibai’s little face and continued snapping away, her hand moving so fast it left afterimages!

After she got the photos, the gloomy look on Yun’er’s face about going back to her room disappeared instantly.

With excitement, she happily wished Ye Zhibai goodnight, hugged her phone, and ran back to her room, shutting the door behind her.

Oh, and before she went back to her room, she seemed to grab a pack of tissues from the table.

This left Ye Zhibai utterly confused.

But strangely, when Yun’er came out of her room, she looked refreshed, in high spirits, even back to her good state from the first day.

However, the tissues were gone.

How strange, indeed.

Oh, right, it wasn’t as if Ye Zhibai hadn’t gained anything over the past three days.

At the very least, she learned one very important thing.

She learned how to change her sanitary pads.

It might sound a bit sad, but hey, it was still adding to her knowledge, right?

But! All that was in the past now!

Today was the fourth day.

Ye Zhibai opened her eyes in the morning, rolled her eyes around, raised her arms while lying in bed, and gradually realized one thing.

And that was—  I’m back!!

Her lower abdomen didn’t hurt anymore, and her head wasn’t spinning either.

Even seeing Guang Yu didn’t make her want to punch her anymore!

Using the bounce of the soft mattress, Ye Zhibai jumped from the bed to the floor, raising her arms toward the sunlight streaming through the curtains, welcoming this wonderfully perfect new day.

Praise life, farewell Aunt Flo!

Guang Yu transformed from her cat form back into her fox-loli form, yawning as she curled up in the corner of the bed.

“Mm… Ye Zhibai, it’s so early… yawn… what’s gotten into you?”

“Nothing, Guang Yu. I just feel better, that’s all.”

Guang Yu thought to herself, I didn’t pay for zoo tickets. How did I wake up to see a monkey?

Oh, upon closer inspection, it was just Ye Zhibai. Never mind then.

The celebration didn’t need to go any further—Ye Zhibai didn’t want to act too childish.

She lowered her hands, no longer praising the sun.

Turning around, she naturally tossed her silver hair over her shoulder and looked at Guang Yu.

When her silky silver hair got tousled from sleep, it gave off a lazy, cold beauty—like an ice sculpture.

Once her period had passed, it was like recovering from a serious illness. Her purple eyes, cold but clear, were like an immortal’s—calm and serene, like a lotus flower.

How beautiful was she?

Even the goddess Guang Yu was momentarily stunned.

The little fox only just realized that the pallor on Ye Zhibai’s face from the past two days had finally returned to a healthy glow.

Even if she didn’t want to admit it… some things just had to be said.

Guang Yu crossed her legs, not caring that her little bear-print underwear was fully visible to Ye Zhibai.

She scratched the side of her face with her finger, her tail patting the bed as she turned her head to the side and reluctantly spoke.

“I guess you do look better when you’re healthy… Make sure to stay healthy from now on. That aunt… oh right, make sure Aunt Flo doesn’t visit so often. When you’re sick, there’s no one to buy me drinks…”

“Guang Yu, thanks for your kind words.”

“But I don’t think Aunt Flo’s visits have anything to do with my will.”

Wait a minute— Guang Yu said… she hadn’t had drinks for two days. Something’s not adding up!

Ye Zhibai felt confused.

“I didn’t buy you drinks, but you’ve been drinking just fine these past two days… where did they come from?”

“Well…”

“If you don’t tell me, I’ll get the osmanthus cakes Cool Sister sent. You won’t be allowed to have any.”

“You wicked woman! Ugh… I just earned them myself… I didn’t steal, I didn’t rob, totally fair!”

“Earned them yourself? Explain that.”

In a tiny, muttered voice, Guang Yu tried to brush it off as cute nonsense.

“I just used your phone to order takeout… I had the delivery guy leave it by the fence outside the estate, and then I snuck out to grab it… Isn’t that self-sufficient?”

Unfortunately for Guang Yu, Ye Zhibai was listening closely, so Ye Zhibai heard everything.

Uh oh. The fox had grown stronger.

She’d even learned how to order takeout by herself!

Guang Yu’s behavior, coupled with Ye Zhibai’s three days of recovery, perfectly embodied an old saying.

—“Three days without a beating, and the house gets turned upside down.”【9†source】*

[*” Three days without a beating, and the house gets turned upside down* (三天不打, 上房揭瓦, sān tiān bù dǎ, shàng fáng jiē wǎ)” – A Chinese proverb that means if someone (often a child) isn’t disciplined for too long, they’ll become unruly or cause trouble. Here, it’s humorously applied to Guang Yu’s growing mischief.]
