Chapter 31: Your bounty is quite high.
“Why did you just send me away!”
The palm-sized white dragon emerged from Miss Mercury’s cup as Ron and the others left the study.
It’s not that he had a particular preference. It’s just that there was no other water source in the study.
“Because you’re not suitable for the situation just now,” Miss Mercury said calmly.
The white dragon pondered for a few seconds before saying, “After giving him this territory, are you not going to care about him anymore?”
The white dragon knew nothing was in that territory, and Ron might starve after going there.
“My duty is just to guide the transmigrator, not to teach him everything step by step.”
“And besides, as long as he has the system on him, the Outer Gods will definitely find him.”
Although Ron personally killing the evil god surprised Miss Mercury a bit, it was only a limited surprise.
“He’s still wanted throughout the city, and you let him go just like that? Aren’t you afraid he’ll be caught again?”
“This is something he needs to learn to handle on his own,” Miss Mercury said, lounging lazily in her chair.
“By the way, did you try revealing yourself just now?” She asked casually, recalling the water in the cup.
The white dragon wanted to, but Miss Mercury restrained him, “No.”
“In that case, it’s the witch’s issue,” Miss Mercury murmured, her eyes closed.
The witch, Ron saved was more powerful than she had imagined. After Ron left the study with the documents given to him by Miss Mercury, he finally remembered something crucial.
“Am I still wanted?” Ron asked Lilian in a hushed tone.
“You’re right,” Lilian nodded.
“Is this the Norman Empire?” Ron’s expression turned unpleasant.
“Of course, this isn’t the Norman Empire,” Lilian glanced at Ron.
“A Duke of the Norman Empire, but not in his own country?”
“For Miss Mercury, going anywhere is quite simple.”
Miss Mercury came here solely to find Ron, the time traveler. Upon hearing Lilian’s responses, Ron breathed a sigh of relief.
If he were wanted by the Norman Empire and had acquired territories of the Norman Empire, that would be truly perplexing.
“You don’t need to worry too much,” Lilian explained to Ron, “even if you’ve committed a crime, they won’t be posting your wanted posters all over the streets.”
“But it is indeed difficult for you to leave here easily,” she said with a calm and composed expression on her face.
After all, she wasn’t the one wanted, so naturally, she did not need to be anxious. Moreover, even if she were wanted, being a white dragon, how could she fear being captured? The ones who should be afraid are those foolish enough to try to capture her.
Suddenly, Moluna pulled Ron’s sleeve, “Ron, the person in that painting looks a lot like you, and the one next to it looks like me.”
Ron looked up, followed Moluna’s pointing finger, and fell silent immediately.
“There are many around.” Moluna quickly found more paintings, “What is this?”
“What is this? It’s, of course, a wanted poster, silly girl,” Lilian remarked, glancing at the paintings.
Lilian looked at them and asked, “What exactly did you do?”
The streets were full of wanted posters for Ron and Moluna, and the reward amounts indicated serious offenses.
“I threw a noble kid into a trash bin and got sentenced to death,” Ron said weakly.
He also felt that doing such a thing in a feudal country was a serious crime.
However, Lilian shook her head, “Mr. Ron, even if you throw a noble into the river, the bounty wouldn’t be this high.”
“I’ve chopped people,” Ron tried again.
He did chop people, no matter how you looked at it; it was a serious crime.
“The amount is not right. It’s too exaggerated,” Lilian shook her head. She had some understanding of the average bounty amounts, “What else have you done?”
The 5600 gold coins on Ron’s wanted poster were intimidating. Even someone with a hundred lives on their hands would only have a bounty of around 1000 gold coins.
Ron thought for a long time, seemingly recalling something, but not very certain.
“Miss Lilian, if this isn’t the Norman Empire, what country is it?”
“The Holy Kingdom of Vandal, with influence not as great as the Norman Empire.”
“What did I say on the execution ground?”
“What did you say?”
“I am now an enemy of Vandal.”
Lilian couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. She instantly understood why Ron had such a high bounty on his head.
“You should be thankful. It’s late at night,” she sensed that only a portion of the guards were on patrol.
If it were morning, Ron would have been captured by now.
If he were caught again, the people of the Holy Kingdom of Vandal wouldn’t just give Ron a simple death sentence. It would likely be a brutal execution.
“I have a great idea, Miss Lilian,” Ron slapped his thigh, coming up with a plan, “You fly us out.”
“You’re a dragon maid,” Ron insisted.
“Allowing you within a meter of me is already my limit. If I were to carry you, my body and mind would suffer severe damage,” Lilian said, soothing her forehead with a very serious tone.
“I hope you are not so despising me?” Ron felt attacked.
“You should reflect on yourself,” Lilian said, “I even regret putting clothes on you twice before.”
As for what Ron should reflect on, that was something he needed to figure out for himself.
Ron noticed a torch guard approaching with a torch, pulling Moluna down and helplessly saying, “If we keep this up, I’ll really get caught.”
However, Lilian did not crouch down to maintain her elegance and was caught red-handed. As long as they weren’t blind, anyone carrying a torch could definitely see Lilian’s figure.
“Who are you!? What are you doing here so late?” The guard lifted his torch and shouted.
“What are you doing!? Get down quickly!” Ron was anxious.
Lilian calmly conjured a water droplet at her fingertip and flicked it out.
“Don’t worry, I’m fine,” Lilian straightened her long hair.
But Lilian’s actions attracted even more guards, leaving Ron dumbfounded.
“Miss Lilian, how do you think we should leave now?”
“If I transform into a dragon, I can easily leave alone.”
“No, I mean both of us.”
“I am just a delicate maid. I shouldn’t be thinking about such things.”
Ron wanted to drag Moluna along, but Moluna shook her head.
Before, she hadn’t regained her sanity, so she could only run around aimlessly, but things were different now.
Moluna stood expressionlessly, looking at the people in front of her indifferently. “No one should think about catching you.”
With those words, the sky unleashed a torrential downpour, extinguishing all torches instantly. Without the light of the torches, the night in the city became even darker.
