Chapter 3: Fengniao Town is long gone

Loloan looked at the papers handed over by Ron, then glanced at Ron himself. The Phylin tribe around didn’t encircle Ron and the others, realising they could go if they wanted to escape.

“What’s this?” Loloan asked, turning the document upside down.

“It’s a document proving I’m the lord of this place,” Ron said unenthusiastically.

Loloan approached the document, scrutinising it for a minute, then shouted, “Susu’an! Come quickly! I can’t read!”

A Phylin tribe girl with a floral crown jumped out of the crowd, kicking Loloan away with one foot, saying, “If you don’t know how to read, let me do it!”

Susu’an picked up the document from the ground, “Sorry, Loloan is a fool.”

Ron felt sorry for the dust on the document, saying, “Handle my document a bit more gently.”

Ron hadn’t let it touch a drop of blood or dust during the escape. Now, in just a short while, it was covered in dust on both sides.

Susu’an patted the dust off the document, “Duchess Lady Mercury of the Norman Empire… will award Baron Ron with twenty thousand acres of land centred around Windbird Town.”

“The Norman Empire?” Loloan, lying on the ground, rubbed his swollen face and asked.

“Loloan, you really are an irredeemable fool. The place we’re in now belongs to the Norman Empire,” Susu’an said without bothering to explain much to the empty-headed Loloan.

“This is Windbird Town? Isn’t this place in ruins?” Susu’an exclaimed.

However, she quickly returned the document to Ron, confirming that he was a Norman Empire Baron. Even if Ron was the lord of this place, what did it have to do with them?

“We’ve been living here for a long time. This is our territory,” Susu’an waved her hand. “We don’t care if you’re the lord or not.”

“If you say you plan to take this place away, we won’t agree,” even though Susu’an was more approachable, they couldn’t possibly give up their home for a lord who appeared out of nowhere.

“The Phylins are right,” for some reason, Lilian stood beside the Phylins, “How could we give up our territory just because a new lord suddenly appeared?”

“Lady Lilian, what are you doing?”

“Nothing, just feel that these adorable creatures are making sense.”

“Although that’s true, Mr. Ron, you haven’t even paid me a salary.”

“Isn’t it free?”

“Maid service isn’t free, Mr. Ron. You need to pay me one gold coin per month.”

More and more questions appeared in Ron’s mind. He was gradually wondering what he was doing in this place.

Moluna also finds these Phylin tribe members very cute, but as a loyal follower of Lord Ron, she cannot stand with them.

Compared to these Phylin tribe members, of course, Lord Ron was even cuter.

“The place is ours!” the Phylin tribe exclaimed in unison.

“Indeed, this place belongs to them,” Lilian agreed with the Phylin tribe’s claim.

Ron sat on a rock, temporarily giving up on contemplating what the dragonmaid was up to.

“I didn’t say this place isn’t yours,” Ron said calmly, his hands folded.

“What? Weren’t you here to take over our territory?” Loloan widened his eyes, looking at Ron in disbelief. “Then what are you here for?”

“I want to know who is in charge here,” Ron sighed and asked Susu’an directly.

“The one in charge?” Susu’an was momentarily puzzled, then suddenly understood. “You mean who our leader is, right!”

Susu’an declared proudly, “Our leader is Daddy Susu’ya!”

“That’s right, our boss is Daddy Susu’ya!” The other Phylin tribe members echoed unanimously.

Susu’an raised his short little hand and shouted, “Someone, bring out Daddy Susu’ya!”

Before long, a Phylin tribe member with a white beard was pushed forward.

Seeing this supposed Daddy Susu’ya, Ron’s expression became somewhat subtle. Apart from a few more whiskers, he couldn’t discern much difference between the older Phylin tribe members and the younger ones.

“You’re the new lord of this territory, right?” Daddy Susu’ya pinched his little beard.

Ron put on a serious expression and said, “I want to find a place to stay.”

“No problem!” Daddy Susu’ya didn’t make any demands and agreed readily.

“You agree just like that?” The other party’s prompt agreement exceeded Ron’s expectations.

“Yeah! Daddy! How can you agree so easily?” Loloan shouted from the ground in disbelief.

“This guy is the lord. If he dies here, what should we do?” Daddy Susu’ya unceremoniously poked Loloan’s stomach with his cane.

“Why would we be in trouble if he dies?” Loloan, holding his head, questioned.

Daddy Su Su’ya’s movements suddenly halted, and he remained silent. However, Susu’an, on the side, seemed contemplative, as if understanding why Daddy Susu’ya had agreed so readily to let Ron stay.

Currently, the people of the Norman Empire turned a blind eye to them, but if Ron were to die here, they might use any excuse to eliminate them.

“You guys aren’t planning to murder me in the middle of the night, are you?” Ron asked, trying to lighten the mood.

“Mr. Ron, you can rest assured. It shouldn’t happen,” said Lilian, standing on the side of the Phylin tribe, uttering words that were hard to make Ron believe.

“We don’t engage in sneaky activities,” Daddy Su Su’ya raised an eyebrow. “Besides, we have no interest in violence and killing.”
