The Cannon Fodder Turns His Sister Into A Soaring Phoenix C2

Chapter 2: Junior Sister has grown up

A long sigh suddenly echoed in the Heavenly Pavilion of the Hundred Lotus Sect.

“Ah…”

A middle-aged man in a pink robe sat in the spirit gathering array. He was the leader of the Hundred Lotus Sect named Ye Ao. He had a furrowed brow and a troubled expression on his face.

Ye Ao was at the mid-stage of Core Formation and confined to a small mountain for cultivation practice. He was constantly afraid of the world where Soul Refining cultivators roamed freely, and Nihility Singularity experts were as common as dogs. He harbored no ambitions for eternal life, only wishing for the well-being of his family. He desired to live within the Hundred Lotus Sect, hoping to one day embrace his grandchildren. However, the sign of his granddaughter was nowhere to be seen due to his worthless son’s actions that drove him to frustration.

“Ah…”

Kong Yulan was Ye Ao’s wife, standing beside him. She was tying her hair and turned to give him a stern look.

“Old man, why do you keep sighing? Are you annoyed?”

“It’s that brat, Anping! I’m worried..,” he replied.

“What’s wrong with Anping?” She asked.

Ye Ao spoke heavily and asked, “That boy is of marriageable age, but with his temperament, which girl would be willing to marry him?”

Kong Yulan glanced at him, clicking her tongue, and replied, “Anping is so handsome. There are plenty of girls who want to marry him.”

“Rubbish.” Ye Ao rolled his eyes. “That kid bullies a girl named Pei every day. Do you know how he’s viewed outside? A playboy who takes pleasure in tormenting girls.”

“Who dares to say that about Anping? I’ll go and chop them down,” she said.

“Heh, people within a hundred miles of the Hundred Lotus Sect say the same. Even those little immortal animals in the back mountains know about it. Go ahead and chop them down.”

“…”

Ye Ao sighed deeply, “Back then, I saw Pei girl from the Pei family. She was well-behaved and had average spiritual roots. I brought her back to the Hundred Lotus Sect, thinking that if Anping grew up and couldn’t find a wife, she could be a backup. But what happened?”

“Since Pei Lianxue came to the Hundred Lotus Sect, Anping has been bullying her for almost ten years. Now, I’m too embarrassed to tell  Pei Lianxue about this childhood engagement.”

Kong Yulan nonchalantly shrugged and said, “Anping said he’s helping her cultivate, right?”

“You believe him? What kind of cultivation involves breaking someone’s bones and freezing them outside in winter?” He asked.

“Just a tough cultivation. I heard that cultivators practiced like that thousands of years ago. Besides, didn’t Pei Lianxue achieve Qi Refining’s perfect stage last month?” She replied.

“…”

“Huh?” Ye Ao suddenly froze, blinked, and raised an eyebrow as he looked over and asked, “What the heck? Did she achieve the perfect stage of Qi Refining? Is it real or fake?”

Kong Yulan spread her hands and replied, “Why would I lie to you? She is fourteen and has reached the perfect stage of Qi Refining. It’s even rare to see in those big sects. Sure enough, our son is really good.”

Ye Ao remembered that Pei Lianxue was just an ordinary girl with Three Spiritual Roots.  How was it possible to achieve the perfect stage of Qi Refining at fourteen?

Was his son’s cultivation method really useful?

Didn’t that kid learn those cultivation methods from the storybook?

How ridiculous! If the things in the storybook were useful, then all the secret cultivation books in their sect library could be burned.

Ye Ao was silent for a while, then suddenly thought.

That’s not right. That kid is only at the third level of the Qi refining realm, right? His spiritual roots are better than that little girl Pei.

Doesn’t that further prove that Anping’s teaching is good?

Ye Ao showed a typical father’s expression and thought, He is just a child who hasn’t cast off the milk smell. My thoughts are too ridiculous.

“Sect Master, it’s not good!!” At this moment, Xiao Die’s voice suddenly came from outside the Pavilion’s door. Ye Ao raised his finger and quickly opened the door.

Seeing Xiao Die running in a panic, he quickly asked, “What happened? Did that kid throw Pei Lianxue off the mountain again?”

“…No,” Xiao Die seemed to be running up, out of breath.

“Did someone poison Pei Lianxue?”

“… Nor… not either.”

“What happened? Tell me!!”

“I…ha-ha-”

Kong Yulan couldn’t hold back, slapped Ye Ao on the head, and said, “Old man, didn’t you see Xiao Die running up? Can’t you wait until her smooth breath?”

She stood up, walked to Xiao Die, patted Xiao Die on the back, and asked, “Xiao Die, what happened? Speak slowly.”

Xiao Die took several deep breaths before she calmed down and said, “Young Master, he was almost beaten to death by Junior Sister Pei.”

“Ah!” Kong Yulan’s cat body suddenly shook, and the ponytail she had just tied exploded, “What?”

“Young Master is about to be beaten by Junior Sister Pei…”

Xiao Die repeated it, but she didn’t finish her words yet. Kong Yulan instantly turned into a sword light, shouting, “Ah! My Anping!” while flying out through the skylight.

Ye Ao stared blankly at the skylight he had repaired just the day before, covered his forehead, and sighed, “Damn it, this old woman has no way out, so why does she choose to use the skylight?!!”

Ye Anping lay on the ground, looking at the blue sky. Although he was in severe pain all over his body, he felt extremely satisfied in his heart.

Seeing the little girl who had worked so hard to raise her become successful was like an old father seeing his daughter succeed. He had just engaged in a real fight with Pei Lianxue, demanding to be beaten to death if he couldn’t be defeated. After ten rounds of attack and defense, he had more than a dozen broken bones lying on the ground, while Pei Lianxue had only lost a few strands of hair.

Pei Lianxue and Wu You still had a significant gap in their cultivation, but his training plan was flawless. The Gu insects and magical tools in Wu You’s hands were ineffective against Pei Lianxue.

In the future, as long as they found a good opportunity, a swift and decisive strike before the opponent could react, the crisis of the Hundred Lotus Sect would be completely resolved.

Pei Lianxue walked to his side and squatted down, poking his face with her fingers and saying, “Senior brother, are you still alive?”

Ye Anping turned his head to look at her with a relieved expression.

“Back then, that ignorant little girl has grown up, unexpectedly able to hang up senior brother and give him a beating. Senior brother must be pleased.”

“Senior brother, do you have some peculiar preferences?” Pei Lianxue said indifferently, pinching his face and asking, “Doesn’t it hurt?”

“The pain from this is nothing compared to facing that person later. It’s not even worth mentioning,” he replied.

Pei Lianxue sighed, “Hey, senior brother, you’re starting again. Who is this person you’re talking about? And even if it’s true, when that demonic cultivator attacks the sect, won’t the sect leader and the elders be there?”

“They won’t be able to defeat him.”

“If the sect leader can’t defeat him, how can I? I’m just at the Qi refining stage.”

“Heh,” Ye Anping, lying on the ground, smirked, “For these ten years, you’ve been training specifically against that person. As long as we find the right opportunity, there’s no way he can escape.”

“So, you fed me poison, threw me off the mountain, let me freeze in the snow…”

“Yes, you see, you’re now immune to all poisons, your body is even sturdier than a Core Formation cultivator, and your Qi is abundant. Don’t you feel a sense of accomplishment?”

Pei Lianxue looked at Ye Anping conflictedly, unsure if he had treated her well. Despite the hardships he made her endure, he would always stay by her side when she was bedridden or injured, sharing the precious elixirs given by the sect leader.

She didn’t know if Ye Anping was good or bad to her. She kicked him with satisfaction, yet a strange feeling of distress crept in. Ignoring her mixed emotions, she couldn’t help but kick Ye Anping again.

“Ah–!”

Perhaps too much force was applied as Ye Anping flew into the air, spinning three and a half times before landing on the ground.

Pei Lianxue crossed her arms, turned away, and muttered, “Hmph, stinky senior brother.”

After a moment of silence from Ye Anping, Pei Lianxue’s heart trembled. Did she kick him to death?

She hesitated before cautiously calling out, “Senior brother? Are you still alive?”

“…”

Ye Anping still didn’t respond, lying motionless on the ground. Pei Lianxue’s face turned pale, and she hurriedly approached him. However, as her hand touched Ye Anping, he suddenly twisted around, landing a punch on her face. Her jaw tilted with a click.

“How many times have I told you, learn to hit last! If I were that person, you’d have been counter-killed!”

Veins popped up on Pei Lianxue’s forehead as she grabbed Ye Anping, executing a shoulder throw.

“Senior brother, you’d better die!!”

I saw a harem tag. Yet I’m hoping not to encounter one. Who am I? The moth flying towards inevitable fire or a train seeing deceitful light in the end of a tunnel?
