Chapter 16: What is the Significance?
“Ron, it seems you dealt with those guys.”
Ron hadn’t even entered Wind Bird Town when he spotted Mr. Susua standing nearby, awaiting his arrival.
Behind Mr. Susua stood many Phylin tribe members, holding banners for Ron and his group. Unfortunately, the words on the banners were incomprehensible to Ron. However, when the Phylin tribe members who had accompanied Ron saw the heavily injured tribespeople behind him, they put down the banners and rushed over to provide treatment.
“They are all injured!”
“Wow! Hurry, save them!”
Mr. Susua had anticipated casualties among the Phylin tribe members who confronted the bandit group, so he wasn’t overly surprised.
“We managed to deal with that gang of bandits,” Ron said. “It was easier than I imagined.”
“Indeed, I never expected that not a single one of us would die,” Mr. Susua said, looking at the young Phylin tribe members behind him with emotion.
He had mentally prepared himself for the possibility of Phylin tribe members sacrificing their lives. Now, seeing that nothing was missing, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
“Because Moluna is very powerful! We owe it to Moluna!” The Phylin tribe members, tightly wrapped in bandages, raised their hands and spoke.
Mr. Susua looked at Moluna and said, “Thank you. Otherwise, these brats wouldn’t be able to bounce around like this.”
“By the way, what’s the deal with those two humans behind you?” He asked, lifting his eyelids and examining the bandit leader and Doran.
“The one tied up is the leader of the bandits. I plan to exchange him for money,” Ron explained. “The other one is…”
“Oh, I’m Doran, a wealthy entrepreneur who will soon become even wealthier.” Doran took off his hat and bowed deeply to Mr. Susua.
At a glance, Doran could tell that Mr. Susua was the spokesperson for these Phylin tribe members. Unlike most people, he easily accepted the presence of these Phylin tribe members.
Mr. Susua glanced at Doran and asked Ron, “Is this human a bit problematic?”
“I think there might be a bit of an issue,” Ron nodded. He wouldn’t be speaking in this manner if there were no issues.
“Please do not slander me, gentlemen,” Doran sighed. “This is pure and authentic melodious voice.”
“I always feel like this human is utterly useless,” Mr. Susua whispered to Ron.
Ron also thought Mr. Susua made sense, “Indeed, doesn’t seem to have much use.”
Leaving Doran here would only make the rice more expensive.
“No, no, no, no, no!” With his sharp ears, Doran overheard Ron and Mr. Susua’s conversation and hurriedly said, “I’m definitely useful!”
“It’s rude to assume I’ll only raise the price of rice,” Doran adjusted his tie and stated seriously, “I believe I can be of great help.”
“Like what?” Mr. Susua and Ron asked simultaneously.
“Your town clearly needs development,” Doran said mysteriously. “I can bring you anything you desire.”
Ron looked at Doran with suspicion; he didn’t seem capable of achieving such things.
Doran straightened up. “Seeing me like this, can you still doubt my capabilities?”
“How do you plan to bring us what we need?” Ron wanted to improve the town, but he wasn’t sure how.
Even though he didn’t know exactly what to do, at least getting the houses built was a start. They weren’t magical like dragonmaids, and they needed a lot of tools.
“Of course, I’ll go to other cities and buy them for you,” Doran confidently said, “Buy at a low price, sell at a high price to you.”
Ron admired his honesty. “So, how do you plan to go to other cities?”
“Of course, I’ll walk there myself. I’ve calculated it; walking to the nearest city’ll only take a week.”
Ron didn’t want to doubt Doran, but bandits captured him not long ago. Now Doran said he would go to another city alone, and Ron doubted he would be captured midway.
“You’re willing to take on all these risks?” Doran nodded confidently. “I won’t even let you provide me with food on the way.”
“Dear gentlemen, I only want your trust,” he bowed again.
Ron glanced at Mr. Susua and said, “Mr. Susua, what do you think?”
“Isn’t this quite good?” Mr. Susua said indifferently, “Since he is willing to take on all the risks, it proves he is courageous.”
“And what our Phylin tribe likes the most is courageous people!” He raised his cane. “Today, we’ll make an exception and let you stay for one night!”
“Oh, thank you so much!” Doran said joyfully.
He had had enough of roughing it. “I can’t wait to find out where I’ll stay tonight.”
“You’ll stay in our third-largest cave!” Mr. Susua said generously.
He had already occupied the largest one, and Ron was in the second-largest.
“Cave?” Doran’s expression froze. “Aren’t we staying in houses?”
“What are you thinking? How could you live in a dangerous place like this?” Mr. Susua said unkindly.
The tone completely treated Doran as a fool.
“Wait, didn’t we already take care of the bandit group? Why not stay in the house?” Ron didn’t want to continue staying in the cave.
After spending a night in the cave, his whole body was uncomfortable.
“If we stay here for a few more nights, I might develop back issues.”
“What are you thinking? The bandits we dealt with this time were just the weakest.”
“Now that they know we took care of one group of bandits, they’ll definitely try to retaliate because they have connections among themselves.”
“Our situation will be even more dangerous afterwards!”
“Then, what’s the significance of dealing with this bandit group?”
“Idiot! Of course, it’s to deal with another group!” Mr. Susua knocked Ron with his cane. “Only by eliminating all the current bandit groups can we live in peace!”
“Let’s talk properly!” Ron quickly dodged, and the one who had been listening to their conversation, Loloan, was hit by the cane.
Loloan, who suffered unjustly, touched the bump on her head, looking completely bewildered.
“My bad! I’ll hit you less in the future!” Mr. Susua said to Loloan after retracting his cane.
“I… gained?” Loloan asked in confusion.
“You gained!” Mr. Susua affirmed.
