Chapter 1: First issue, two bodies with one heart

When he woke up, Tyr thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. To give an analogy, it was as if his vision had been sliced in half, each side showing a different scene.

“I…” Astonished by the bizarre visual issue, what shocked him even more was that he couldn’t recall anything about his past except for his name. His memory was as clean as a blank sheet of paper.

However, fortunately, he still possessed basic logical thinking and a perfectly healthy body.

Setting aside the two major questions that confronted him upon waking up, Tyr sat up on the wooden bed that supported his body.

As a result, the wooden bed emitted creaking sounds, but after taking a deep breath to quickly calm himself,

The first thing that caught the eye was this rudimentary grass hut. Its thin structure made it seem like a strong gust of wind could knock it over. Dust had accumulated everywhere, indicating that it didn’t seem like anyone had lived here.

Evidently, his past self, before losing his memory, hadn’t reached the point of living in poverty within such a humble abode.

As Tyr’s black-haired, blue-eyed head scanned the surroundings, passing over the barren table, a three-legged chair, and ancient-looking tea set, his gaze finally settled on a young girl’s watchful eyes.

No, it should be said, frozen under the gaze of a young man.

… It seems like there’s something not quite right.

Tyr rubbed his eyes, and to see the truth more clearly, he widened his eyes.

The girl presented before his eyes had long, black hair cascading down straight like a waterfall, and eyes shining like stars in the night sky.

Although Tyr had no memories of the past, he knew that a woman like this was referred to by mortals as a goddess.

At the other end of the perspective, there appeared a short, black-haired young man with bright and sharp eyes, looking a bit surprised. His age, around sixteen, was similar to the girl’s, but it’s worth noting that this young man lacked the handsome features that could rival the girl. He was extraordinarily ordinary, the kind that would be lost in the crowd and never found again in a short time.

“What happened to me?”

“What happened to me?”

As the boy’s voice sounded, the girl echoed with similar words. Indeed, the girl’s voice, like celestial music, instantly overshadowed the boy.

Tyr seemed to sense something, and both the boy and the girl had a hint of paleness on their faces.

“No way.”

“No way.”

Again, in unison, the two spoke as if singing a duet. No, even in a duet, one person’s speech might be slightly delayed, but these two seemed to have a telepathic connection, with tones and expressions extremely similar.

However, the boy’s pale face was just as pale as if he had constipation, not worth mentioning. The girl’s delicate, pale face, on the other hand, seemed extremely helpless and fragile, evoking sympathy. Every frown and smile appeared capable of changing the world.

“Damn!”

“Damn!”

The boy and the girl both cursed at the same time, but profanity coming from the mouth of such a beautiful girl added a unique flavor.

No, no, no, no.

Tyr felt it wasn’t the time to be emotional. He thought losing his memory was already the biggest problem at hand, but little did he know there was something even more troublesome now.

Finally, let’s confirm one last time.

In order to confirm the situation before him, Tyr unconsciously swallowed, his voice sounding like that of a thirsty man drinking water.

“Beforehand, I’ll say that if my deduction is wrong, I can accept punishment other than violence.”

“Beforehand, I’ll say that if my deduction is wrong, I can accept punishment other than violence.”

With a firm belief, the young man Tyr extended his right hand towards the girl’s prominent **, while the girl, without dodging, made the same motion, reaching towards herself.

If a sponge could be described as soft, Tyr felt that he had now touched the ultimate softness. The sound of the other person’s heartbeat transmitted through his palm, making Tyr’s breathing abnormal.

However, as the girl touched her own chest, Tyr could clearly feel it too.

“Is it really like this?”

“Is it really like this?”

Reluctantly, he lowered his somewhat trembling right hand. Tyr had to confront this biggest and most unimaginable question.

He actually possessed the bodies of both a boy and a girl.

A single entity with two bodies.

Firstly, what needed to be confirmed was whether he had male-female reactions towards the girl, namely **. When viewed from the girl’s perspective, this feeling didn’t arise.

This proved that before losing his memory, he was probably a man, not a woman. Psychologically, he didn’t want to perceive himself as a woman.

Next was the issue of vision – one consciousness, two perspectives. This made the amnesiac Tyr aware that it was abnormal, and revealing it might lead to being treated as an oddity.

With the simultaneous actions of both, there came obstacles in movement. Many things would have differences, such as walking. The girl might have a clear path without obstacles, but Tyr might stumble. More awkwardly, there was the issue of using the restroom.

Fortunately, he still retained common-sense memories, so he had chosen to selectively ignore the matter of restroom usage for both genders.

Lastly, the environment he found himself in was surrounded by a vast forest outside the grass hut, lush and seemingly endless, with occasional roars of unknown creatures. However, this wasn’t the main concern. Tyr lacked experience and memories of wilderness survival. From his movements, it seemed his past self wasn’t particularly agile. There were no calluses on his palms, though there was a layer on his fingers. From this, he deduced that he likely practiced some musical instrument. As for the specifics, he would probably need to see one to know.

“Staying here will probably lead to starving sooner or later.”

“Staying here will probably lead to starving sooner or later.”

The two cautiously walked out of the grass hut, both expressing a headache. Indeed, although Tyr didn’t feel hungry at the moment, in another day or two, he might not even have the strength to walk.

“We must leave here.”

“We must leave here.”

This way of singing a duet made Tyr feel like there was thick phlegm stuck in his throat, but he couldn’t cough it out, extremely uncomfortable. Tyr furrowed his brows, looking at the girl, and the girl looked back at him.

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration.

Try multitasking with both minds.

Once this idea sprouted, it couldn’t be stopped. Incredibly, his proficiency in multitasking was frighteningly high. This made him wonder if his past self had this particular skill.

I regularly checked in news about this series for years. I don’t care about lack of popularity some translators, heck, it is my 2nd favourite of books originating from chinese language. It even made me want to study passive chinese language skills. (But i decided to go with japanese for now). You got at least 1 person hopelessly hooked on this series…
