Chapter 126: Interesting

“Tyr, you seem a bit absent-minded during battles,” Dragon Slayer asked as they walked side by side on the street. Tyr was initially startled but then replied.

“Indeed…,” it’s understandable. After all, he still has to focus on his identity as a Yuehai. Even though his multitasking ability is extraordinary, it’s inevitable to be distracted. Although it doesn’t have much impact, Dragon Slayer, with his exceptional perception, can obviously see it.

“Let me teach you a move, it should be helpful for you.”

“Oh? What move?”

“The technique is called ‘Heart’s Insight’ from the Mind-Heart Fist style, one of the eight hearts and three minds. It’s renowned alongside techniques like ‘Flowing Heart’ and ‘Heart’s Armor.’ Its function is to concentrate attention. When necessary, it can even sever sensory inputs from the body, temporarily numbing pain!”

“Isn’t that a martial art technique from a specific school? Can it be separated?”

“Others may not be able to, but I’m different,” Dragon Slayer said, proudly puffing out his chest before continuing.

“Do you want to learn?”

“Of course, I want to learn,” Tyr was in need of such a martial technique. During his battle with Diaz, he forcibly induced a sleep state in the Yuehai, almost severing all sensory inputs from himself to unleash terrifying computational abilities, eventually succeeding in executing the third form of the Heavenly Sword technique. However, that was ultimately a makeshift solution. If he could utilize Heart’s Insight to sever all senses and even consciousness from the Yuehai, all of Tyr’s computational abilities in multitasking would be consolidated back onto himself. It’s worth noting that Tyr’s multitasking computational power has reached a level that even gods would marvel at. If this immense computational power were to be concentrated on one person.

“Tyr suddenly felt like he had come up with an extraordinary move!”

“Alright, then listen carefully,” Dragon Slayer said calmly to Tyr, but this action left Tyr feeling puzzled.

“Dragon Slayer, you’ve been giving me swords today, cheering me on, and teaching me martial arts. Do you have a request from me?”

“….” Dragon Slayer’s face stiffened, and his slender legs struck Tyr’s body like whips.

“Ah!” Tyr let out a miserable cry, nearly being thrown away. The mercenaries and elves following behind were shocked, but Shating Iron Sword narrowed his eyes slightly, as if seeing through something, and nodded subtly.

“You bastard, do you still want to learn?!”

“Learn, learn, learn,” Tyr hurried back eagerly, but when he saw the mercenaries behind him trying hard to stifle their laughter, his face turned red.

“Why are you laughing? Learning knows no bounds. Don’t think I’m so great; there’s still plenty for me to learn, and the same goes for all of you.”

“Yes,” the three mercenaries immediately wiped the smiles off their faces. The elf glanced at them before belatedly closing his mouth.

Dragon Slayer chuckled and then said to Tyr.

“I’ll only explain it once, demonstrate it once. You better learn it well. Don’t blame me if you don’t master it.”

“Alright,” Tyr nodded cautiously, saying.

“Let’s begin.”

“Let’s call it a day here. Looking at your humble abode, I won’t disturb you any further,” Dragon Slayer said, hands on hips, shaking his head and smiling at Tyr and the others’ room. Tyr, of course, wouldn’t be impolite enough to suggest they spend the night there; that would only invite trouble.

“Alright, I’ll see you off,” Tyr said, getting up from his seat and leaving the room. Dragon Slayer nodded, and the two of them left the tavern.

Wind Slash Ghost breathed a sigh of relief as he saw the two of them completely leave, then plopped down onto the wooden floor.

“It’s really exhausting. Dragon Slayer’s presence is too intimidating.”

“Indeed, only strong individuals like Mr. Tyr can converse confidently with Dragon Slayer.” Shating Iron Sword nodded in agreement, then hesitated and said.

“Wind Slash Ghost, actually, saying this now might be a bit presumptuous, but don’t you find Dragon Slayer’s attitude a bit strange?”

“Strange? Are you trying to say that Dragon Slayer acts like an old lady despite being a powerful figure?”

“No, if Dragon Slayer hears you say that, your head might end up farther than a ‘magic ball’.”

“Haha, I was just kidding, Ironsword. Don’t take it seriously,” Wind Slash Ghost explained hastily, startled by Shating Iron Sword’s scare. His heart raced at the sudden fright. Shating Iron Sword chuckled and shook his head.

“I don’t really have the authority to say this, but I think Dragon Slayer seems to be interested in Mr. Tyr,” Shating Iron Sword said.

“Interested? Interested?!” Wind Slash Ghost was momentarily stunned, then he realized what was being implied. He scooted closer to Shating Iron Sword and asked curiously, “Interested, as in interested in that way?”

“What do you think?”

“Wow! That was so interesting! Iron Sword, how did you figure it out?”

Wind Slash Ghost exclaimed. Shating Iron Sword cleared his throat, sat down in a chair, picked up an empty wine glass, and swirled it around. Wind Slash Ghost’s insight was incredibly sharp, so he quickly grabbed a wine bottle and poured Shating Iron Sword a glass of red wine. Shating Iron Sword took a sip and then said contentedly.

“Think about it. Just like what Mr. Tyr mentioned earlier on the street with Dragon Slayer, Dragon Slayer first bought Mr. Tyr an expensive katana, then openly cheered for Mr. Tyr with us despite others’ gazes, and finally taught him martial techniques. But the main thing is the Dragon Slayer’s gaze. You might be too young to understand, but I know. That gaze isn’t just between friends.”
