Chapter 33: First Meeting

Walking through the bustling West Sis City Avenue, in less than a few minutes, Tyr and the others entered the mercenary branch.

The first thing that caught their eyes was still that large group of mysterious figures. Tyr really doubted if this was a mercenary branch at all, or rather a clandestine division.

And the next moment, what they saw were four figures standing straight like trees at the door.

“Mr. 123, these four are the senior mercenaries I’ve invited.”

“I see.” Tyr nodded, scanning the four with his eyes. This glance made their originally upright postures even stiffer, and beads of sweat formed on the forehead of one flashy-dressed man.

“Indeed, you are well-trained mercenaries,” Tyr nodded with a smile, addressing the four. “Hello, everyone. I’m 123, a newly recruited mercenary. Please bear with me if there are any shortcomings in the future.”

This sentence left the four stunned and at a loss for words. Meanwhile, Zack, standing beside Tyr, furrowed his brow and spoke with seriousness.

“Gentlemen, aren’t you going to introduce yourselves to Mr. 123?”

Although he was just a mid-level mercenary and usually treated senior mercenaries with great respect, now that he was closest to Mr. Tyr, he felt entitled to reprimand these individuals for their rudeness!

The four men suddenly realized their oversight, and the first to react was the flamboyantly dressed yet handsome man from earlier.

“Uh, I, I’m Wind Slash Ghost, a senior mercenary, uh, with the peak ‘Qi and Harmony’ combat aura. I’m 21 years old. Ah, what else? Oh, Al? Is introducing oneself this difficult?” Wind Slash Ghost mumbled in a fluster, reminiscent of that guy Claude. However, compared to Claude, Wind Slash Ghost gave him a completely different vibe, like the difference between length and height.

“Um, hello Mr. Wind Slash Ghost.” Tyr extended his right hand in a friendly manner, catching Wind Slash Ghost off guard at first. He then shook Tyr’s hand with both of his own, responding excitedly.

“You, you’re too kind. Just call me Wind Slash Ghost!”

“All right. Then the next one is…”

“Good day, sir. My name is Shating Iron Sword, a senior mercenary affiliated with the Dust Spirit Mercenary Corps. I possess the peak ‘Qi and Harmony’ combat aura and am 34 years old. Upon hearing that you intend to slay the bounty of 30,000 gold coins, the King of Ogre Cannibals, I’ve come to offer my modest assistance.” Shating Iron Sword spoke with clarity and strength, displaying a maturity that young men lack. The slightly somber gaze in his eyes was the finest testament to years spent in slaughter.

“Hello, Shating Iron Sword, it should be fine to address you directly, right?”

“Yes, please feel free to do so.”

“Um, next, this young lady is…”

“I, I’m f-f-four…” A sharp sound came from the woman next to Shating Iron Sword and what was more noticeable was that she seemed to have bitten her tongue. In this embarrassing situation, Harrytu on the side was actually whispering encouragement, waving his fists and cheering her on. The woman, who was already blushing, felt even more embarrassed at this moment.

“Sorry, s-sorry!” The flustered female mercenary apologized, exuding a mature and seductive charm. Her green shoulder-length hair gave off an energetic vibe, and her ** was quite impressive, making Tyr… uh, nevermind.

Tyr didn’t know why he couldn’t seem to look at women with an appreciative gaze each time. If this continued, he feared he might really become a pervert.

“It’s okay, please continue.”

“Yes, yes. My name is Emerald Star. Like the previous ones, it’s also a mercenary nickname. I’m a high-level mercenary and a second-level magic apprentice. I’m 22 years old this year.”

“Ah, Emerald Star. You should have learned healing and detoxification spells, right?”

“Yes, yes.”

“Then we’ll leave our support to you.”

“Yes!”

“So, the last one is…”

“Phew~ Hello, sir.” The last girl, with her long flaxen hair, bowed respectfully before speaking again.

“My name is Butterfly of Sunflowers. I am a martial artist with peak ‘Qi and Harmony.’ Like them, I am also a high-level mercenary. I am 18 years old this year. If there are any shortcomings in myself during the recent period, please punish me severely, sir, so that I may remember it.”

“So, punishment, huh…” Tyr immediately entertained countless thoughts about punishment, then shook his head to dispel them. He wondered if he was some sort of beast before losing his memory, how else could he think about that aspect so readily?

“But she’s really young, isn’t she? Butterfly of Sunflowers is only eighteen years old and already has the strength of a high-level mercenary. She must be very reliable.”

“Ah, well, I’m still far from it… Compared to Mr. Wind Slash Ghost and Mr. Shating Iron Sword I’m far from enough.” Suddenly praised, Butterfly of Sunflowers quickly brought out Wind Slash Ghost and Shating Iron Sword. Wind Slash Ghost’s face changed immediately, and he responded.

“Little Butterfly, don’t be modest. You became a super rookie mercenary at sixteen, a prodigy who reached peak ‘Qi and Harmony’ in just two short years. I’m far behind you in comparison.”

“Yeah, that’s true,” Shating Iron Sword nodded in agreement, causing Butterfly of Sunflowers to let out a soft whimper. She had hoped to share some of the pressure with the two gentlemen, but it was swiftly thrown back at her without hesitation. Under Tyr’s gaze, Butterfly of Sunflowers couldn’t help but feel a stomach ache.
