Chapter 44: Emergency Situation!

Although Ron’s visit caught Lady Mercury off guard and disrupted her plans, finding some pleasant surprises from him made her quite happy. She had lost track of when she last felt hopeful about a transmigrator, maybe the fiftieth or seventieth attempt. Initially, they planned to nurture a transmigrator for over a century, but plans couldn’t keep up with changes.

Surviving in a completely unfamiliar world proved more challenging for transmigrators than they had imagined. The Sages person and beings like the Dragon Clan established an “organization” for transmigrator training.

They trained transmigrators as soldiers, making them powerful, but the results were still insufficient. Outer gods still existed, lurking in every corner of the Bi-colored Realm.

When they abandoned the old training method, some “special” individuals emerged, like Ron. However, Ron’s possibilities were weak, leaving Lady Mercury perplexed.

“Afterwards, I will inform the Majesty that you have organized the Wind Veil Basin. Your achievements will be recorded, and the Empire will probably reward you. I will send an administrative official over later. You can rest assured. The last thing is to convey my greetings to the Phylin tribe on your territory.”

“Well then, it’s time to end this meeting,” Lady Mercury said and snapped her fingers. Like when Ron first met her, a door appeared on the wall without warning.

The door quickly opened, revealing the Wind Veil Basin. “Although your visit made me very happy, it disrupted my original schedule,” Lady Mercury said.

Now, Lady Mercury, the Duchess of the Norman Empire, has a lot of responsibilities. She looked at Lilian and said, “Next time, I hope you make an appointment before visiting me. After all, your servant can contact me at any time.”

“We will make an appointment next time. Please forgive my rudeness this time,” Lilian said.

“Well then, we’ll take our leave here,” she bowed to Lady Mercury, then stood by the door, “Mr. Ron, this way, please.”

While Ron was still meeting with Lady Mercury, Moluna sat on the stairs, puzzled about why Ron and Lilian suddenly flew away. As Moluna continued pondering this question, she suddenly seemed to sense something and looked sharply in a certain direction.

A familiar sensation came from that direction, as if it were an old acquaintance. However, this puzzled Moluna because she had been under house arrest and had no friends at all.

How could she possibly encounter someone familiar in a remote place like the Wind Veil Basin?

Nevertheless, she stood up because magical energy in the air was gathering around her. Witches and wizards use magic differently. Witches utilize the flowing magic of the Bi color Realm or their own, while wizards borrow magic directly from the moon. At this moment, the magic was like silk, passing through Moluna’s fingertips and sliding over her shoulders. This magic was different from what Moluna usually called upon, making her curious. She followed the source of magic.

After an unknown amount of time, the magical guidance around Moluna dissipated, leaving only a few traces. The magical sensation, like silk enveloping her, also disappeared, leaving Moluna momentarily lost.

“Where is this?” Moluna, coming to her senses, was surprised to find herself in an unfamiliar place.

The area was covered with abundant vegetation, and even the rocks were entwined with vines. Despite the abundance of plants around, Moluna didn’t see any blooming flowers. After taking a few steps forward, she stumbled over something, falling to the ground in a disheveled manner.

Moluna touched her foot and looked at the culprit that tripped her—a skeleton covered with grass, devoid of any flesh or blood.

Judging by the posture, the owner of this skeleton seemed to have tried to escape from something in their past life. However, evidently, they hadn’t managed to escape in the end, or they wouldn’t be here. As she stood up, intending to continue forward, chaotic magic surged from the depths of the forest.

Although it lasted only for a moment, Moluna’s body became immobile, frozen in place by the overwhelming magic. The negative emotions emanating from that magic reminded Moluna of her past when she turned into the Black Mud.

“Are there other witches?” Moluna finally understood why there was magic guiding her.

There was another witch in the Wind Veil Basin beside her, and that witch was already deeply entwined in a curse.
