Shut up, malevolent dragon! I don’t want to have any more children with you V2C54

Chapter 54: Gazing at the Remains

“The queen is in a good mood today.”

“So?”

“You’re allowed to accompany me on the border patrol.”

“Mother Dragon, if you want to go on a date with me, just say it straight. No need to beat around the bush.”

Today, Rosvitha wore a relatively neat and simple pantsuit. Her usually concealed long legs were now accentuated by the tight trousers, revealing their curves and allure.

Of course, she didn’t intend to dress so provocatively; it’s just that her figure was too good, and anything she wore looked like that.

Listening to the man’s shameless boasting, Rosvitha gave him a disdainful look, “What date? Dream on. Anna, along with some maids and guards, will be accompanying us.”

Oh, so this border patrol isn’t going to be an excuse for a secret rendezvous after all.

Leon shrugged, “Then go ahead without me. Why would you call me?”

“As the prince of the Silver Dragons, you still need to maintain some presence, right?”

“Not me. I’ll stay home and take care of the kids.”

“A real man is born between heaven and earth; can he just stay home with the kids every day?” Rosvitha continued trying to persuade him.

But as they say, once bitten, twice shy, Leon was now basically immune to Rosvitha’s instigation tactics. He still had a lazy tone, “I’m staying home with the kids today.

Leon thought that with this, Rosvitha should give up on the idea of taking him out. However, to his surprise, this Mother Dragon was unusually patient this time.

“But you’ve been holed up at home for a long time now. It’s time to go out and get some fresh air.”

Rosvitha said, “Last time you caught a cold might have been because you stayed at home for too long and didn’t exercise regularly.”

Bringing up the cold wasn’t a good move; it only irritated General Lei.

“I caught a cold last time because you locked me out on the balcony until late at night.”

“Who asked you to talk back? I don’t care; you must go out today.”

Oh, she’s being unreasonable again.

If this Mother Dragon had tried reasoning with him nicely, Leon might have given her some face and gone with her. But judging by her tone and attitude, she was clearly issuing a strict order.

The little dragon was really being contrary.

Leon plopped down on the sofa in the living room, refusing to budge. “I’m not going.”

Looks like the couple is at it again.

Rosvitha opened her mouth, about to “threaten” Leon again. But as the words were about to come out, she changed her mind and said instead, “Fine, just consider it accompanying me.”

At her words, Leon was taken aback.

‘Just consider it accompanying me.’

Oh~~~

So, all that talk about “the Silver Dragon Prince needing to assert his presence” and “the cold was because you’re always cooped up at home” was just a cover-up for this one line, ‘just consider it accompanying me.’

Very well, very much in line with my stereotypical impression of you, Silver Dragon Queen—

Beating around the bush, stubborn and proud.

Leon smirked triumphantly.

“Since you put it that way, I’ll go with you. But don’t get me wrong; I just suddenly realized that I should indeed assert my presence in front of your people.”

Well, that fits perfectly with my stereotypical impression of you, Casmode.

You only respond to softness, but your stubbornness is as hard as an iron plate.

But it doesn’t matter; Rosvitha can’t be bothered to expose his little schemes now.

Exposing them might bring temporary satisfaction, but leaving him to his stubbornness is a lifetime of satisfaction.

After the couple finished getting ready, they set off to the border of their territory with Anna and a few other maids and guards accompanying them.

Patrolling the border was Rosvitha’s monthly routine.

In theory, for a territory as large as theirs, as the queen, she wouldn’t need to come down every month. It could be completely delegated to trusted subordinates.

It’s like the chairman of a company wouldn’t go to the security booth every month to chat with the old men about how many delivery guys they chased away this month or how many illegally parked shared bikes they removed. It’s just not realistic.

But Rosvitha was a top-notch workaholic, insisting on personally handling every matter.

Of course, Leon was well aware of her workaholic nature and didn’t find it surprising.

What truly impressed him about Rosvitha was her ability to balance high-intensity work with family life.

Whether it was their three daughters or him, her fake husband, Rosvitha managed everything with ease.

She didn’t even bring the stress from work into their home.

Leon had never seen her come back to the room and sulk because of work pressure, ignoring everyone.

It’s easy to talk about this kind of thing, but it’s hard to do.

No one can guarantee they won’t be overwhelmed by stress and emotions, right?

But Rosvitha managed to do just that.

Ah, such a wonderful woman, and she’s my wife.

It’s really distressing (suppressing laughter).

“Let’s start from here.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

The sensation of falling brought Leon back to reality.

Several silver dragons descended slowly, landing on a lush grassland with dense forests in the distance, marking the border of the Silver Dragon territory.

Leon jumped down from Rosvitha’s back, and the dragons transformed into human forms.

Rosvitha walked to his side, and the couple walked forward together, with Anna leading the maids and guards on either side.

The group crossed the grassland and entered the forest.

Not long after they set off, Leon keenly sensed the hidden lookouts in the giant trees of the forest.

There were quite a few lookouts, indicating that Rosvitha had reinforced her security since the last attack by Constantine.

Leon carefully observed the surroundings and then lowered his voice, “There are about 27 lookouts in this area, right?”

Rosvitha raised her eyebrows, slightly surprised. “Yes, that’s right. I didn’t expect you to find them all. Looks like we need to reinforce the surveillance.”

“Simply adding more manpower won’t be very effective. It would be better to focus on improving camouflage techniques.”

In matters like these, Leon had a significant say.

It’s like a master thief getting into law enforcement and becoming an expert in anti-theft measures.

So, Rosvitha took Leon’s advice seriously. “Okay, I understand.”

The couple kept their voices low; Leon wouldn’t point out Rosvitha’s small mistakes in front of her subordinates. Outside, he had to give the Queen some face.

After about two hours, the group was about to leave the forest. Ahead lay the edge of the Silver Dragon territory.

At the end of the forest, Leon saw Constantine’s dragon head. It was suspended between two giant trees, gently swaying in the cold wind.

It had been half a year, and the scales and horn of the dragon head had deteriorated. The single remaining horn looked dull, as if it would break at a gentle touch.

Leon approached Constantine’s dragon head, expressionless as he examined the massive skull. After a while, he snorted softly and muttered to himself, “Aligning with the Empire was your biggest mistake, Constantine.”

Rosvitha walked up beside him, glanced at the dragon head, then at him. “What’s this? Are you reminiscing about your exceptional achievements here?”

She also lowered her voice to ensure Anna and the others behind them wouldn’t hear.

Leon grinned sarcastically. “An opponent of this caliber isn’t worth reminiscing about.”

“Oh? Then what kind of opponent is worth your nostalgia?”

Leon withdrew his gaze from Constantine’s head and met Rosvitha’s eyes. The couple locked eyes, and everything was understood without words.

But before the romantic implication could flourish, the Queen personally pressed it down.

“Hmph, a little captive, wanting to hang my head on your doorstep?”

Leon rolled his eyes speechlessly.

Serves me right for not confessing to you.

“You just wait, even until the end of time, the end of the world, I won’t confess to you, you foolish dragon.”

After paying respects to Old Kang’s remains, everyone arrived at the border of their territory.

As they moved forward, the environment gradually deteriorated, with sand flying and stones rolling in the desert wasteland.

“There doesn’t seem to be anything abnormal here. Let’s go check the next place,” said Rosvitha.

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

The group turned to leave, but Leon remained in place.

Noticing Leon hadn’t followed, Rosvitha took a few steps and looked back, “What’s wrong?”

Leon slowly squatted down, staring at the boundary between the grassland underfoot and the desert ahead.

The division was clear, as if it had been sliced open by a knife.

“The line is too neat…” Leon pondered, then slowly stood up and said to Rosvitha with his back turned, “We should increase patrols here.”

Rosvitha’s eyes flickered, then nodded, “Alright.”

Leon stood on the neatly sliced boundary, gazing into the distance where dust clouds rose, squinting slightly.

“I can’t shake this feeling of danger.”
