Chapter 64: Cracks
Since Ravi is here, that means…
Losvis looked back at the two figures.
Indeed, it was the two Dragon Kings who also excelled at space magic: Baligh and Jaggs.
“Long time no see, Silver Dragon King.”
Ravi raised his hand, and dozens of space teleportation arrays opened behind him. From the arrays, over a hundred dragons flew out in sequence.
They charged at the distant Silver Dragon soldiers. Both sides began fighting without a word.
“I didn’t expect you guys to actually kill Sta. To be honest, the strength of the man beside you has far exceeded my understanding,” Ravi said. “If someone like that continues to exist in this world, it will be a serious threat to both the dragons and the empire.”
He continued, “Silver Dragon King, you’ve chosen the wrong side. Whether you choose to stay neutral or cooperate with the empire like we do, it would guarantee the prosperity of your Silver Dragon clan for centuries.”
“But you insisted on helping Leon Cosmoad.”
“So I regret to inform you that both of you… will be erased.”
The couple stood back-to-back. Losvis faced Ravi, her aura undiminished, her majesty still present. She said coldly, “What nonsense about choosing sides? I’m just doing what I believe is right.”
“As for so-called self-preservation? Ha… it seems our Silver Dragon clan has kept such a low profile that you’ve mistaken me for a cowardly king.”
Ravi frowned slightly and, after a moment of silence, replied, “I respect your courage to go all in, Silver Dragon King, but as I said, you both will be erased today.”
“After the battle with Sta just now, you must have exhausted almost all your energy, right?”
“But don’t worry, I won’t send you off violently—that’s the beauty of space magic.”
Although Ravi appeared calm on the surface, he was panicking inside.
If it weren’t for the fact that these two were already drained of their magic and stamina by Sta, he wouldn’t have dared to come here with Baligh and Jaggs.
That would have been a death sentence.
Now, Nacho’s so-called “surprising killer move” was finally about to be played as the trump card.
Ravi raised his hand, and a complex, swirling magic array slowly appeared in his palm. The other two Dragon Kings did the same.
“Space magic… we have no idea what their method of attack will be,” Leon said. “But anyway, let’s take out the one who talks the most first. Sounds good?”
Losvis nodded. “Okay.”
After a pause, she asked, “Do you have enough magic left?”
Leon touched his chest. That last attack had drained almost all of his magic.
But he still had the Nine Hells Gate, a body technique he could use.
He just didn’t know how effective it would be against three Dragon Kings using only physical techniques.
Still, he had to give it a try. It’s not like he could stand there like a training dummy waiting to be hit.
“I probably can’t use magic for now. I’ll draw their attention, and you attack from the side,” Leon said.
“Alright, be careful.”
“Mm, let’s go.”
After briefly discussing their strategy, the couple moved into position, one left and one right, and charged towards Ravi. They were fast, almost instantaneously closing in on Ravi.
Leon pushed off the ground with his right foot, leaping into the air, driving his knee straight toward Ravi’s face.
The speed granted by the Fourth Gate gave him enough momentum, making even a simple knee strike carry unimaginable destructive force.
Losvis, standing on the side, gathered her dragon flames, ready to attack Ravi from the flank.
Everything was going according to the plan they had just devised.
But just as Leon was about to reach Ravi, a light blue barrier suddenly rose, standing between Leon and Ravi, blocking Leon’s attack.
As soon as Leon landed, both he and Losvis immediately distanced themselves from the barrier.
After all, space magic was something they had never encountered before. They had no idea what its attack mode would be like.
“What’s with this barrier…”
As soon as the words left his mouth, two more barriers rose from the ground, forming a sealed triangular area with the barrier in front of Ravi.
Leon and Losvis were trapped inside, with little room to maneuver.
S-Class Space Magic: Gate of the Future.
Losvis tried attacking the barrier with her dragon flames.
But the moment the flames touched the barrier, they inexplicably disappeared.
A second or two later, a burst of flames erupted in the distance.
Squinting, Losvis recognized it—the effect of her attack hitting empty ground.
“This barrier transfers magical attacks far away.”
Losvis gently pressed her hand against the barrier, her tone grim. “And your physical attacks just now didn’t affect it either. This is troublesome…”
The space barrier was different from Sta’s absolute defense.
When they broke through Sta’s defense, Leon had relied on the penetrating power of Chidori combined with the immense momentum from Godspeed, a fusion of magic and physical technique.
But this space barrier was not only incredibly strong, it could also transfer magical attacks. That meant the only way to break it was through physical force.
“If the Fourth Gate’s attack is ineffective—”
As Leon spoke, he slowly bent his knees, taking a stance with both fists by his waist.
An invisible force radiated from his body, causing the stones on the ground to jump around.
Nine Hells: Fifth Gate: Staburst.
Based on the speed of the Fourth Gate, it greatly enhanced the user’s physical strength and explosive power.
Of course, Stating from the Fifth Gate, the side effects of the Nine Hells Gates would gradually become more severe.
But Leon had no time to worry about the side effects now. Who knew what other tricks space magic had in store?
He had to break this damn barrier as quickly as possible.
After releasing the Fifth Gate, light steam seeped from the gaps in his black-gold armor. That was the steam from his sweat.
Leon let out a low shout, pushed off the ground with his right foot, and shot forward.
In an instant, he closed the gap to Ravi, delivering a Staburst punch straight at the space barrier.
When his fist landed, even the ground around him shook, and the barrier wobbled slightly.
Ravi gritted his teeth, continuously channeling magic into the barrier’s array, barely managing to withstand Leon’s punch.
The burden and pain the Fifth Gate put on Leon’s body were far beyond what the Fourth Gate could do. But similarly, its power boost was beyond imagination.
Yet in the end, this move still couldn’t break Ravi’s space barrier.
Ravi secretly sighed in relief. “Stop struggling in vain, Cosmoad. You can’t break this barrier. As I said before, you two will be erased, but without any pain. Why not quietly accept your fate?”
Leon suppressed the pain running through his body, his voice strained. “Shut up, old man. Do I look like someone who would surrender?”
He retreated to Losvis’ side, lowering his voice. “With a barrier this strong, it’s impossible for Ravi to maintain it alone. The other two guys are helping out quite a bit.”
“There are obvious pros and cons to this.”
“The pro is that, as you can see, with just the two of us, it’s hard to compete against all three of them.”
“But the con is that if any of the three slack off or make a mistake, the barrier’s strength will greatly weaken.”
As Losvis spoke, Leon glanced at the distance where the Silver Dragons and the Astral Dragons were locked in close combat.
Leon sighed inwardly. “But it doesn’t look like anyone can help us from the outside…”
Leon’s thought was simple. If any of the three maintaining the space array were disrupted, there was a chance he could break it.
But the problem was that all the Silver Dragon soldiers were being tightly held back by the Astral Dragons Ravi had teleported over. No one could break through.
What a hopeless situation…
And yet, an even more desperate moment arrived.
A magic array formed beneath the couple’s feet as well. In the center of the array, a small crack appeared.
The crack glowed with a ghostly blue light, obscuring whatever lay beyond.
And it was slowly expanding, as if trying to swallow both Leon and Losvis.
Losvis Staed intently at the ever-growing crack, her mind racing.
“From the beginning, Ravi kept talking about ‘erasing’ us, not ‘killing.’ So this thing likely isn’t a sealing technique or spatial annihilation. It’s more like…”
Based on how her dragon flames had been transferred earlier, Losvis speculated,
“A teleportation spell… Ravi is trying to send us somewhere completely unknown.”
“Smart as ever, Silver Dragon King.”
Ravi grinned smugly. “You’re right. This is indeed a powerful teleportation array. In today’s world, there’s probably no magic or person that could kill Leon Cosmoad. So… the best choice is to send him far away.”
The unexpected killer move was exactly that.
Though the so-called ‘killer move’ still couldn’t actually kill Leon.
But that didn’t matter. As long as he could send this troublesome figure away, Ravi didn’t care whether he lived or died.
Ravi said, “In that completely unknown world, Leon Cosmoad won’t be lonely, because you’ll be with him, Silver Dragon King.”
“Oh, right, you two have children, don’t you? I should’ve captured them too and sent them into the array. Then your whole family could reunite in the other world, living however you like.”
“Though I still don’t understand… how could a proud Dragon King lower herself to be with a human?”
Bang—
Leon slammed his fist into the barrier. “Mind your own business, old man!”
“Tsk, Cosmoad, I’ve long heard that you’re one of the most stubborn ones in the Dragon Slayers. I didn’t expect you to still be this stubborn even at death’s door.” Ravi, certain of his victory, chatted leisurely with Leon.
Losvis was taken aback and glanced at Leon. “So you were already famous for being stubborn before you married me…”
“Hiss—Th-that’s slander! I’m never stubborn,” Leon explained.
“Really? Then when are you going to confess to me?”
“There’s no rush for that.”
“Why no rush? I’m in a hurry.”
“No matter how anxious you are, it’s no use.”
The couple bickered as if the spatial crack beneath their feet didn’t exist.
And they completely ignored Ravi outside the barrier.
“You scoundrel!* I knew it. Do you not want to take responsibility?”
[*”Scoundrel (狗男人 – gǒu nán rén):” – a playful but accusatory term literally meaning “dog man,” used in a joking way to call someone unreliable or deceitful in relationships.].
“What do you mean I don’t want to take responsibility? If I didn’t, would we have so many kids?”
“I gave birth to all of them! I did all the work!”
“That’s really ungrateful of you. Without me, could you have done it on your own?”
Ravi: “Enough…”
“Dragons can reproduce by laying eggs in a cocoon, you know that?”
“The ones born from cocoons have intellectual deficiencies.”
[*”Cocoon reproduction (茧生 – jiǎn shēng):” – refers to the idea that dragons could be born from cocoons rather than live birth. This is a playful and fantastical concept in the story, comparing different forms of reproduction.].
Ravi: “Hey…”
“How does being born from a cocoon make them intellectually deficient?”
“Did you forget about those three little chubby dragons who got beat down one-on-three by Noa?”
Ravi: “I’m telling you, cut it out!! What are you doing? You’re on the verge of death, and you’re still arguing?”
The couple stopped bickering in sync and turned to look at Ravi together.
“What are we doing? We’re distracting you.”
“W-what…”
Before Ravi could react, a sharp bird’s cry suddenly echoed behind him.
A small black figure leapt up, thrusting lightning gathered in its hand straight at Ravi’s shoulder.
Sounds like Ravi is trying to Isekai Leon and Rosweisse…It would interesting to see what kind of world they would be sent to and the efforts they take to come back.
Quien es? Noah? Esto se puso bueno jsjs
To think that the couples bickering could be used as a weapon. 😂
I guess there was another reason why Rosvitha doesn’t seem keen in asexual reproduction.
This series really is the best!
