Yesterday is boring, today is boring, tomorrow is boring, good storys are never boring!

Shut up, malevolent dragon! I don’t want to have any more children with you V2C72 Part 2

Chapter 72: I am the eighth door, which door are you? (Part 2)

Leon paused for a moment, then shook his head with a bitter smile.

“Speaking of responses, the reason I didn’t say these things back then was because… I was afraid your response would be… rejection.”

“I was really afraid you’d turn me down.”

“Whenever I led troops into battle, I would always tell my subordinates: It’s better to make mistakes than to do nothing at all.”

“But when it came to my feelings for you… I became the type to do nothing rather than risk making a mistake.”

“And now, the only reason I’m even saying these things is because… well because you’re unconscious.”

Leon’s bitter smile turned into self-deprecating laughter, and his palms, which he had been rubbing together, were now red.

“Really, Rosevitha, whenever I’m around you, I just can’t get those words out.”

“I guess this is your fault.”

“Who told you to be so beautiful? You look even better when you smile.”

“I was just a straight guy who had never been in a relationship before, so of course, I panicked when I saw someone as beautiful as you, right?”

“But logically speaking, you’re a dragon, and I’m a dragon slayer. No matter how beautiful you are, I shouldn’t have had any inappropriate thoughts about you.”

“So maybe it’s just… that you were too beautiful.”

Every word he said was an honest compliment to his wife.

These words would never have passed his lips while Rosevitha was awake.

As Leon had just admitted, it was only because she was in a coma, unable to respond, that he dared to speak his mind.

After delivering this one-sided barrage of praise, Leon stood up and patted the crystal.

“I’m going to check on the girls. I’ll come back and see you later.”

With that, Leon turned and left the dark chamber.

Outside, he realized that he wasn’t too familiar with the layout of this underground space.

So he just wandered around aimlessly.

In the end, he stumbled upon Aurora’s lab.

Although it was called a lab, it was rather simple in terms of facilities.

The room had bookshelves on either side, filled with various ancient texts on spatial magic and reversal magic.

In the middle was an extra-long stone table, covered with a variety of magical array materials and Aurora’s handwritten notes.

Hearing movement at the door, Aurora looked up and adjusted the temple of her glasses. “Oh, Dad, did you need something?”

Leon shook his head. “No, just wandering around.”

“Alright, though it’s a bit messy here. Make yourself at home,” the scientist mumbled, diving back into her research.

“Mm.”

Leon scratched her cheek and asked, “So this reversal magic… is there anything I can do to help?”

“I’ve been working on this for over a decade, Dad. No matter how smart you are, you couldn’t catch up with my research progress in such a short time.”

“Is that so…? And Noa and the others don’t help with your research?”

Aurora shook her head, “Because it’s just the three of us here. If our eldest and second eldest sisters also devoted all their energy to researching reversal magic, then they wouldn’t have time to practice magic.”

“In other words, my two sisters are in charge of fighting. But as a scientist, I don’t have the kind of strength they do, so I’m only responsible for logistics. That’s how we initially planned it, each person doing their part.”

“Oh~ I see.”

But Noa was good at fighting, Leon knew that;

Could Moon also ‘go on field missions’?

That little girl—didn’t she hate fighting and killing?

“So, Dad, you don’t need to worry about helping me. Just focus on regaining your strength. That Gate of Nine Hells, practice it more. It’s powerful.”

Leon shrugged, “I can open the fifth gate now.”

“I’m at the eighth gate.”

General Leon:?

I like something Aurora K. Melque said:

“I’m just a scientist; I don’t have their kind of strength.”

(Extra updates for the Moe Battle have been fulfilled~)

It’s the end of the month, everyone clears your monthly votes~ Arigato~

The Gate of Nine Hells is not the kind of top-tier body technique you can master just through training.

Although it’s called “body technique,” in the early stages of cultivation, it requires extremely fine control over the user’s magic. One small mistake and the technique could backfire during practice.

At best, you’d strain your muscles and bones, and at worst, it could kill you.

Back when Leon first opened the first gate, he even needed the assistance of someone as powerful as Rosevitha, a Dragon King-level being, to do so.

And the further you go with the Gate of Nine Hells, the harder it gets. The book even states that after the fifth gate, many practitioners go years without making a breakthrough.

This is also why, despite Leon’s talent and hard work, he rapidly opened the first five gates, but afterward, his progress slowed dramatically.

Yet his youngest daughter, so young, had already opened the eighth gate…

Unless she started training in the Gate of Nine Hells when other little girls were playing with dolls, she can’t have reached such a level by the age of twenty.

“So… how old were you when you started practicing the Gate of Nine Hells, little Guang?” Leon asked.

The Gate of Nine Hells, as a body technique, is different from magic.

With regular magic, as long as the magical circuits in your body have matured, you can officially start learning.

A normal young dragon might start learning magic around the age of five or six; Noa, however, began studying by Leon’s side at just over a year old.

However, the prerequisite for training in the Gate of Nine Hells is that the body must meet various strength standards.

Leon still remembers some of those standards, like needing to breathe continuously for twelve hours even when severely injured and near death.

Leon thought, If Aurora had started practicing the Gate of Nine Hells as a child, how could her body strength have possibly met such exaggerated standards?

Aurora thought for a moment, “I guess… I started when I was about eight.”

“Eight?!” General Leon was stunned.

“What’s wrong with eight?” Aurora leaned closer.

Leon quickly waved his hand, “N-Nothing… but did you meet all the prerequisites for the Gate of Nine Hells at the age of eight?”

The scientist chuckled, “Well, I didn’t meet them, but I had a great teacher.”

“A great teacher?”

Leon finally admits why he stubbornly never confessed. No wonder he was so scared to cokes his feelings to Rosvitha, even if it is obvious that she loves him.
