Chapter 85: Come, Call Godmother ( Part 2 )
In Leon’s memory, during the years he was captured by the Silver Dragon, Martin had reverted to the weak boy he once was.
He had hoped that Martin would learn to be strong and brave without him around. After all, being born into a noble family, weakness only allowed enemies to take advantage.
“After dealing with Victor’s business twenty years ago, Martin has changed a lot,” Rebecca said. “Maybe it’s because he knows his beloved captain is still alive or for other reasons. But in any case, your little fanboy has been doing quite well since taking over his father’s position.”
“He… took over his father’s position?”
“Yes. But don’t worry, Martin hasn’t been blinded by power. Thankfully, with his help, I got the latest royal information and passed it on to Noa.”
Rebecca added, “So, did you get the Heart Dragon Scale?”
Leon shook the heavy black bag in his hand.
Rebecca raised an eyebrow in surprise, “You didn’t pull out all the dragon scales, did you?”
“A thief never leaves empty-handed,” Leon shrugged.
“This is a serious crime, you know. Ten executions as a starting point,” Rebecca said.
“What’s the difference between ten executions and one?” Leon shrugged, “After the first, I’d be dead, the other nine are just for making minced meat.”
“I hate minced meat,” Rebecca said.
After some playful banter, the two old teammates looked at each other.
After a moment, they opened their arms and embraced each other.
Rebecca leaned against Leon’s chest, solid and warm. She held back tears, muttering, “Twenty years ago, when I wanted to hug you, you took a step back.”
“Things are different now,” Leon said.
Muen blinked and asked, “How is it different?”
Leon: … “Do you want to know, sweetie?”
He continued, “Because back then, your mom and I were still in the heat of our romance. If I went outside and hugged another pretty girl, wouldn’t that ruin my reputation as a man?”
“But now, your mom and I are like an old married couple. We know how much we love each other, so hugging an old teammate won’t cause any problems.”
“Second sister, don’t ask questions you shouldn’t ask. Men, you know, are like this after being married for a long time,” Aurora held back laughter.
Rebecca pushed Leon away and looked at the troublemaker, asking in a neutral tone, “Little Pink Hair, have you thought about calling me ‘Godmother’?”
“You just said not to call you ‘Aunt!’ How come you’re bringing up ‘Godmother’ now?”
“Aunt is Aunt, Godmother is Godmother. So, how about calling me ‘Godmother’?”
Aurora stomped her feet and sought help from her good friend, “Sister! Look at her, she’s bullying me again!”
Noa waved her hand, signaling to ignore it. She had no way to deal with Rebecca’s sharp tongue.
Leon blinked, understanding.
This is how it is, as they say, “The wicked have their match!” Two sarcastic people together, they just compete on who’s quicker with the tongue.
Rebecca had flattened Xiao Guang!
“Do you want to leave the city before dawn?” Rebecca asked.
“Yes, time is tight and the mission is urgent. We still have to continue improving the reversal magic after we return,” Leon paused and added, “Oh, reversal magic is—”
“I know, Noa already briefly explained it when we exchanged information,” Rebecca said. “Although I don’t fully understand the theory of reversal magic, in any case… Captain, you’re going to save the world again, right?”
“Ah, I don’t want to, but my abilities are here, I can’t just ignore it.”
It felt familiar.
The King B is back, with the same old formula and the same old taste.
After twenty years, Leon still acted the same, and Rebecca couldn’t help but feel like something had been missing in her life.
Now, everything felt complete.
“But before saving the world, we have to leave the Empire, right?” Rebecca said.
“Yes, but a few hours ago, to get the exact location of the Heart Dragon Scale, we kidnapped Nacho, who has already alerted the Empire. So if we want to leave…”
Leon continued, “The risks will be very high.”
“I plan to sneak to the city gate while it’s still dark and then have Noa and the others transform into dragon form to force their way through. The Silver Dragon tribe has natural speed advantages, so outrunning any pursuers shouldn’t be too difficult.”
Rebecca’s thoughts stirred as she analyzed, “But the Empire has been raising a lot of flying dangerous creatures over the past twenty years. With less than three months left of the original six months, time was tight, and they couldn’t afford to waste it with the Empire.
They had to leave the city as soon as possible.
“Here’s what we’ll do. I’ll ask Martin to arrange it. He’ll use the royal cargo carriage to get you out of the city,” Rebecca said. “Although the entire city is under martial law, there’s still a chance. We can gamble. If we’re found out, we can force our way through then.”
Leon thought for a moment, and with no other choice, agreed.
“How long will it take Martin to arrange it?”
Rebecca raised a brow, looking quite pleased. “How about now?”
