Chapter 17: Get Off My Second Sister!
After Xiao Guang was born, she looked after her even more.
And not too long ago, during the spatial rift crisis that lasted six difficult months, Noa had grown up even more.
However, premature maturity often leads to emotional exhaustion and weariness.
Noa rarely shared her inner thoughts with others—not even with Leon and Rosvitha.
This was one of those subtle family dynamics, where people wouldn’t always reveal their worries or troubles, even to their closest kin.
But Helena was different. She was Noa’s friend—someone outside the family, yet close enough to maintain an intimate relationship.
And being a few years older, Helena could naturally play the role of an older sister.
Even if they had never explicitly defined their relationship that way, the reality was there.
Noa would subconsciously seek the kind of emotional comfort that a “younger sister” should receive.
Leaning into Helena’s embrace gave her a moment of respite from her usual vigilance.
This was the importance of friendship.
The couple had a faint realization of this and exchanged another knowing smile.
Their eyes met, silently agreeing to discuss their eldest daughter’s friend after dinner.
For now, the most important thing was to eat!
“Sister.”
A soft, sweet, and slightly helpless voice came from one side of the dining table.
The couple and Xiao Guang followed the voice to see— Moon is sitting there, holding her knife and fork, looking at Noa with a pitiful expression.
“Sister, I can’t cut my steak. Can you help me?”
Xiao Guang blinked her beautiful pink eyes and silently thought:
Second Sister, a year ago, you could split steel plates with your bare hands. Now you can’t even cut steak?
Are you evolving backward or what?
Noa was also slightly surprised.
She remembered that Moon had long since stopped needing her help with cutting steak or correcting her posture at the table.
So why was she suddenly asking for help now?
Still, Noa didn’t overthink it.
Since it was Moon’s request, she would do her best to fulfill it.
Noa scooted closer, taking Moon’s small hands and guiding her to cut the steak piece by piece.
“Thank you, Sister! Sister, you’re the best~ Muuuua~”
Taking advantage of the moment when Noa leaned in to help, Moon planted a big, smacking kiss on her cheek.
Her older sister’s face instantly turned red.
Hiss~~~
What’s with this little thing acting all strange today?
She hasn’t kissed my cheek in ages—suddenly doing this now, it’s making me blush.
There’s an old saying:
“Middle-aged couples kissing once can fuel their nightmares for nights on end.”
Then what about two sisters kissing… would that cause nightmares too?
Noa pinched Moon’s nose. “Eat properly.”
Moon replied sweetly, “Got it, Sister~”
Xiao Guang, sitting nearby, was getting goosebumps all over.
In her short one-year life, her impression of Second Sister had always been one of innocent joy and boundless cuteness—the undisputed first mascot of the Silver Dragon Sanctuary.
But what was this scene before her?
Not only could she not cut steak, but that deliberately delicate tone of voice—even Xiao Guang had long outgrown speaking like that!
And now, Second Sister was picking it back up again?!
I don’t care who you are—get off my Second Sister right now!
“You sisters are so close,” Helena commented.
“Ah, Moon has always—”
“Of course~myy sister and I are super close!” Moon interrupted.
The girls’ voices cut off Xiao Guang’s wild thoughts.
She raised a brow and looked at her eldest sister’s classmate.
After a brief moment of thought, she then glanced at her second sister, who was thoroughly enjoying Noa’s tender care.
Ohhh~~
The pink-haired girl understood now.
Second Sister hasn’t regressed, nor has she been possessed.
She’s simply showing off!
Now, presenting an exclusive interpretation by the Silver Dragon Tribe’s Third Princess and Goddess of Mischief, Aurora K. Melkwe:
“Sister, you’re feeding me, right? Helena won’t get jealous, will she?”
“But the food Sister feeds me is so delicious~”
“My sister loves me the most~ Helena, you’re just a friend~”
“You two can hug, but I’m the one who gets to kiss Sister~”
“Sister’s little face is so soft and smooth and sweet—I could kiss it forever~”
“I~ love~”—
“What are you giggling about alone?”
Leon’s large hand gently patted the top of her head.
Xiao Guang looked up at her dad’s hand. “Nothing, Dad. The food you and Mom made is just so delicious—I couldn’t help but smile.”
“You’re getting this happy just from eating?”
“Yes, Dad.” Xiao Guang answered seriously.
Leon chuckled and ruffled her hair. “Eat up.”
“Got it~”
She knew it—this weekend was going to be full of entertainment.
Xiao Guang was already looking forward to what other fun antics her Second Sister would pull off next!
…
Good evening. Leon sat in Rosvitha’s study, flipping through an ancient document.
He hoped to find some clues about primordial magic from it.
However, most of the time, there was little progress, but for now, this was the only method he could rely on to explore primordial magic, like fishing in the sea for a needle.
After a while, footsteps came from the study door. Rosvitha walked in, her feet in dragon wing slippers. She had just finished her bath, and her silver hair was wet, cascading down her back.
The soft, smooth skin of her arms still carried the lingering heat of the bath, with droplets of water scattered across.
The dragon-shaped pattern on her chest rose and fell with her breath, and the soft, squeezed-out cleavage made one’s mind wander.
She also carried a faint rose fragrance.
Leon sniffed the air but didn’t look up, saying, “Your Majesty, a bit of a luxurious taste, bathing in rose petals.”
Rosvitha walked to the desk, tiptoed slightly, and gently perched her rear on the edge of the desk, her nightgown outlining the roundness of her hips. Her silver eyes dropped to look at Leon.
“I was going to invite you to join, but then I thought, you’re putting so much effort into finding clues about primordial magic for your beloved wife, and I couldn’t bring myself to disturb you.”
