Shut up, malevolent dragon! I don’t want to have any more children with you V3C31

Chapter 31:  That man flipped the chessboard

In essence, Lavi, the dragon king skilled in manipulating space magic, did not trust the Empire.

But for various reasons, he had no choice but to cooperate.

In the end, he died because of his uncontrolled space magic.

And tonight, after witnessing the Empire’s attitude and seeing Konstantin’s fate, Fer was even more determined to withdraw when the time was right.

But… he would have to wait for the right opportunity.

Otherwise, with the Empire’s methods, making Fer the common enemy of humans and dragons wouldn’t be hard.

“I had only heard that Iron Wing Dragon King’s speed was incredible, but I didn’t expect to experience it firsthand.”

The human man on the dragon’s back said leisurely.

“Mr. Scott, your highly anticipated resurrected Konstantin has once again fallen at the hands of Leon Casmod.”

Fer reminded him, “Lord Erlandy should care about this, right?”

The implication was clear: “You, little red, don’t just stand there and speak casually. Think about what your master will do to you when you return.”

“Care? Hmm… of course he will care, but it’s not a big deal.”

Scott appeared slightly nervous but still tried to act calm, “Resurrected Konstantin was originally a test product of fusion techniques. If it’s gone, then it’s gone. The Empire still has plenty of materials, and we can create more ultimate creatures like him.”

Fer knew what Scott meant by “materials.”

Apart from various dangerous species’ organs, there was the crucial—Dragon’s Heart Scales.

Those scales were the key material that perfectly integrated Konstantin’s dragon head and other dangerous species’ organs. They unified the powers from different bodies and eliminated the rejection between the organs.

To be honest, Fer didn’t know his fellow dragons’ scales had this function until now.

One could only say that those humans were indeed… more fanatical than dragons in some ways.

Their thirst for power, from another perspective, was not less than that of dragons.

Cooperating with such a species… sooner or later, he would be used as fuel for their power, right?

Fer was a smart dragon. Compared to the rewards, the risks involved in this process were too great for him to bear.

So, in the end, it still came down to withdrawing!

Scott, on the back of the dragon, continued boasting about the Empire’s next big plans, how fusion techniques would improve, how with this experience, the next resurrected Konstantin would definitely kill Leon, and so on.

Fer found it irritating to listen.

But suddenly, he felt a power fluctuation.

Fer looked down and then widened his dragon pupils in disbelief.

The power fluctuation was coming from the head he was holding.

“Konstantin… Could you still… be alive?”

However, what Fer didn’t expect was that this internal question got some sort of response.

He listened carefully to the whispers from the undead.

As a fellow dragon, even though there was no need for sympathy, it was just a small effort, so why not?

“I understand now, Konstantin. I hope you complete your revenge.”

The iron-blue figure streaked across the night sky, heading straight toward the human Empire.

In the Empire’s Imperial City, the Fusion Technique Laboratory.

Scott hurried to the lab.

He felt a bit nervous and uneasy.

When he brought Konstantin to the Red Dragon Temple, Lord Erlandy hadn’t pressured him, saying that this time wasn’t necessarily about eliminating Leon, just a test.

But Scott knew, it was best to only believe half of what the boss says, or else he would get in trouble later.

So he had gone there with the mindset of “must kill Casmod.”

But now Leon was fine and even managed to reduce Konstantin to just a head.

Not to mention the loss of so many high-level dangerous species’ organs and the Dragon Scales.

Such a loss was considerable, and with Erlandy’s bad temper, he would probably scold him severely.

But then again, Erlandy did say it was just a test.

A test… isn’t it normal to have some losses?

So, upon meeting the boss, Scott planned to report the good news about the Red Dragon Temple first and then follow it up with the bad news.

Although there wasn’t much good news… but if he squeezed, there’d be something.

After a fierce internal struggle, Scott finally stood at the lab door.

He bit his lip, raised his hand, and was about to knock when he heard Erlandy’s voice from inside.

“Can someone tell me what the hell is going on?!”

“If I don’t get to the bottom of this tonight, you all can wait for the gallows tomorrow morning!”

It didn’t sound like Erlandy, more like a rampaging bull.

Scott’s calves began to tremble uncontrollably, and he could already imagine the expression on Erlandy’s face when he scolded those royal sorcerers.

But what had happened?

Was it serious enough to involve the gallows?

But no matter what had happened, Scott felt that it was better to get back home quickly then come back in a few days to report on Konstantin’s situation.

Just as he turned to leave, the lab door suddenly opened.

“Scott?”

It was like the whisper of death, and it sent a chill down Scott’s spine.

He swallowed hard, trembling as he turned around. “L-Lord.”

“When did you return?”

“Ah, I was—”

“How did the mission go?”

Scott’s eyes darted around, nervously stammering, unsure how to answer.

Looking at his evasive gaze, Erlandy snorted coldly. “What a waste. Where’s Konstantin? Did you bring him back?”

“Konstantin… we brought him back, but the rest… we didn’t bring it back,” Scott answered, trembling.
