Chapter 34: Test Your Bloodline ( Part 2 )
León thought to himself as he held Mu’en’s hand and entered the haunted house with the others.
The environment inside was exactly as Isa had predicted, pitch dark, with only dim, flickering ambiance lights to help them vaguely identify the direction.
“Sister~ Sister, where are you?”
“I’m here.”
“Where is here? I can’t see you, I’m all alone, so scared, woo woo~”
“When you came in, you were holding Dad’s hand. I saw you.”
“……”
“Dad! Can I use a hook punch on the ghost uncle?”
“Ah… that would probably involve some medical compensation…?”
“The one next to us, can you stop telling cold jokes during moments like this? It ruins the atmosphere!”
“Where’s the road? Where is it, where—ah, what’s that green thing ahead!”
“What green—ah, damn it! A ghost! Really, can’t we use magic? Dad, quickly, set that thing on fire!”
In the darkness, chaos ensued.
“Mother Dragon, are you… scared?”
“You think I’d be scared of such childish things?”
“Then why are you holding my hand?”
“Don’t say that, it wasn’t me.”
“Then who was it?”
“It’s~~~me~~~”
“I’ll kill you, M—”
León stopped himself before accidentally hitting with his “Thunderstrike.”
After the first scare ended, the Melkwei family continued forward, joined by another family who discussed which ghost was the scariest.
León looked down and realized his precious Mu’en was still with him.
Thank goodness, he hadn’t lost his daughter.
Then he turned around and saw Noia walking out calmly, with no expression on her face. She was so composed.
León blinked, realizing something, and looked around, “Where’s little Guang?!”
“I’m here, Dad.”
Following the voice, León saw the exit of the haunted house, where little pink-haired Guang was dragging a ‘ghost’s’ collar as she slowly walked out.
“He said I was cute and wanted to hug me, so I triggered my hook punch mechanism, and then… he passed out.” Guang innocently said.
The staff at the exit twitched their mouths, then sighed, “How many times has this happened this month? Oh well, just report it as a work injury.”
Loisver swatted León’s butt with her tail, complaining about him stepping on her tail in the haunted house, balabala.
Isa stood beside, watching this scene with furrowed brows.
Grandma Veronica stepped forward, “How was it?”
Isa shook her head, “He’s probably not from the Garuda Tribe.”
“Oh? So soon?”
“Yeah.”
Isa silently picked up her tail with a resentful look,
“In the haunted house, brother-in-law stepped on my tail 11 times, stepped on Loisver’s 23 times, and stepped on the other family’s 48 times. With that vision, don’t insult the Garuda.”
Grandma covered her mouth and laughed lightly, “Alright, alright. So, what’s the next species you’ll test?”
Isa turned to León, and said leisurely,
“Thunder Elf.”
…
After lunch, the entire Melkwei family set off for the Young Dragon Amusement Park.
This was little Guang’s first time at the Young Dragon Amusement Park, so she was more excited than her two older sisters.
The little pink-haired girl walked at the very front, eager to play at every stall she saw.
Throwing sandbags, tossing bouncy balls, or playing ring toss…
It was rare for her to put down her books and come out to play, so León and Loisver naturally followed along, indulging her.
The three little ones excitedly explored the various attractions of the park, while the couple followed behind.
As for Isa and Grandma Veronica, they walked at the very back of the group, just like they did earlier in the morning.
“Let’s talk about Thunder Elves now, Isa,” Grandma Veronica said.
Isa crossed her arms, walking leisurely, but her gaze never strayed far from her brother-in-law.
“Thunder Elves are a very important branch of the Elven race, similar to soldier ants in an ant colony. They are used to protect their race and fight off invaders.”
“So, their combat abilities are among the top in the Elven race, and naturally, they specialize in lightning magic.”
“However, even though they’re great warriors, Thunder Elves still retain the Elven race’s natural traits, which is… elegance.”
“Those little fairies, no matter where or when, will always maintain absolute elegance.”
At this point, Isa paused and shrugged, “If we dragons had even half their elegance, we probably wouldn’t be labeled as ‘violent maniacs’.”
After hearing Isa’s analysis, Grandma Veronica looked at León ahead of them and, with a skeptical expression, raised a finger and said,
“If that behavior is considered ‘elegant,’ then perhaps we dragons could take off the ‘violent maniac’ label.”
“What behavior?”
Isa followed Grandma’s direction and saw her brother-in-law holding little Guang and wildly shooting at a balloon booth.
“Boxers! Boxers!”
“Boss! Ten more shots! Let my daughter have fun!”
“What? Leaving?”
“Impossible.”
“Leaving is impossible; your prizes are great here, and the balloons are easy to pop. I love it here!”
“Ten more shots!”
“Bang bang bang bang! Guang, how’s my shooting? Am I good or what!”
Isa: ……
Grandma: ……
Thunder Elves: ……
Isa silently took out the list she had written the previous night and crossed off Thunder Elves from it.
“I guess my brother-in-law will never learn elegance in this lifetime.”
Muttering, Isa looked at the remaining two races:
The Fenwolf Tribe and… humans.
