Chapter 75: Protagonist Triumphs
The next day, at dawn, a streak of sunlight brushed through the clear fog of Chenshi, brightening up Xuanxing City.
Ye Anping opened the doors of the physiotherapy centre early in the morning. After the morning class at Xuanxing Sect, Bai Yuexin came to help with accounting. She was accompanied by over thirty disciples from the Xuanxing Sect, all there to support his business.
Thus, the entire morning kept Ye Anping busy without a moment to rest. Just like the previous day, he was exhausted. However, keeping his word to teach Bai Yuexin psychotherapy, he went to the eastern market and bought two live chickens for her to try.
As expected, Bai Yuexin couldn’t control the spiritual energy as finely as he could, and the result was that the two live chickens accidentally exploded. It was a literal explosion, making it impossible even to turn them into roast chicken.
The walls and ground in the backyard of the physiotherapy centre were covered with chicken blood and feathers. Ye Anping had managed to avoid being splattered, but Bai Yuexin had turned into a bloody mess. Consequently, she had to borrow his bedroom, where she used water stone and flint to heat a basin of soup for a bath.
At this moment, Ye Anping had just cleaned up the dismal scene in the backyard and was planning to take a short nap on the recliner. He also contemplated how to address the issue of “excess yang energy” with his junior sister without making it awkward.
The parrot had returned with Si Xuanji the previous day, so he hoped for an undisturbed day.
“Young Master Ye! We are back!!”
“… …”
Not long after lying down, Ye Anping heard this voice. Instinctively, he prepared to get up but immediately realised it might be a trick. He chose to pretend he hadn’t heard and continued to rest.
Seeing no response, Xiao Tian’s voice suddenly sounded distressed.
“Young Master Ye, even if you can see me, I won’t do anything to you. Why are you so stubborn? Can you really not hear me? I really want to have one more person to talk to, woo woo woo…”
“… …”
Ye Anping estimated it was a ploy and ignored it. However, judging from its tone, Feng Yudie has gained a lot. He wondered how many spiritual stones she had brought back from Tianji Castle.
Ye Anping only opened his eyes upon hearing footsteps. He saw Xiao Tian floating in front of him, wearing a smile and pretending to cry.
Ignoring it, Ye Anping stood up and passed his head through its body. This was his first time passing through Xiao Tian’s body. Normally, it would deliberately avoid others’ heads and rarely pass through anyone’s body.
As his eyes entered Xiao Tian’s belly, a golden light shot at him, nearly burning his retinas. Yet, he vaguely saw a golden dragon holding a small Heavenly Dao book, reading it carefully. The golden dragon and the book were completely disproportionate, as the book was smaller than its dragon eye.
Was this guy carrying Feng Yudie’s Holy Emperor Dragon Body in his belly?
Of course, the image only lingered for a moment in Ye Anping’s vision. After passing through Xiao Tian, the scene disappeared.
Xiao Tian seemed to react slowly, and after Ye Anping passed through, it covered its chest with a shy look, exclaiming, “Oh! I got seen!!”
“…”
Ye Anping ignored it and glanced towards the entrance of the physiotherapy centre. Dressed in a snow-white gauze robe, Feng Yudie stepped into the physiotherapy centre, greeting Ye Anping with a slight raise of her eyebrows and a cheerful smile, “Young Master Ye, how have you been? Did you miss me?”
“… …”
Ye Anping silently stared at her for a moment, then gestured with his chin towards the inside of the room. He led her to the back room, using talismans and door bolts to ensure privacy.
“Smooth?” He inquired.
“Of course! It went exactly as you said. I was blindfolded and taken to Tianji Castle. Following the map and route you provided, I easily reached the central hub. When I heard thunder outside, I opened the door to the outer hall of the fort. Then a fierce Xuanxing Sect elder rushed in with a group of people… It was chaotic inside but quite exhilarating,” Feng Yudie explained.
After listening, Ye Anping nodded slightly, “Well done.”
“Not hard at all.” Feng Yudie shrugged, looking at Ye Anping with raised cheeks. “By the way, about your spiritual stones…”
“No need to worry. I trust you,” Ye Anping assured her.
“In fact, there were a lot of spiritual stones there. If my storage bag hadn’t been confiscated, I would have taken all the stones. The snatched storage bag was too small,” Feng Yudie added.
“It’s good that you managed to grab so much. Most of the remaining ones have probably been taken by Xuanxing Sect,” Ye Anping remarked.
Feng Yudie continued, “I didn’t receive any rewards or artefacts from that stern elder…”
Ye Anping shrugged, uninterested in the details. He then took a look at the box Feng Yudie had brought.
Inside was a pearl-like piece of jade sand, roughly the size of a thumb. “Cold Heavenly Sand,” Feng Yudie explained.
Ye Anping raised his eyebrows and asked, “Is this the total, or have you already divided it?”
“Forty-three thousand and twenty-one pieces. I’ve already divided it as per our agreement of a 50-50 split. Do you doubt that I’d give you less?” Feng Yudie responded.
“No need, I believe you,” Ye Anping assured her.
After a brief silence, Ye Anping raised his sword finger, and both the storage bag and Cold Heavenly Sand flew into his waist pouch.
Feng Yudie curiously asked, “What do you need that for? The elder said it’s extremely cold, and it’s used in cultivating the extremely cold heart technique, which is suitable for practitioners with water and wood spiritual roots, like you and Junior Sister Pei.”
“It’s for Junior Sister’s foundation building. If you don’t need it, don’t ask,” Ye Anping replied.
Feng Yudie, eager to see Junior Sister Pei and Senior Sister Xiao, expressed her intention to leave. Before departing, Ye Anping asked her to deliver a message to Junior Sister Pei, asking her to visit him after sunset for an important matter.
Watching Feng Yudie leave, Ye Anping breathed a sigh of relief.
