Chapter 39: A maid who knows how to cook always earns extra points
“Master, it’s time for dinner.”
With An’s gentle call, Muen opened his eyes.
An’s call was so tender, making Muen feel like he had returned to the past, lying on that soft big bed, the time when he was awakened by An every morning.
Unfortunately, that was just the past.
Muen was now imprisoned in a cage, underneath him was steel colder than his heart.
“How long has it been?”
Muen lifted his eyes to look at An, exhaustion flashing in his eyes.
“It’s been one night already.”
An placed the food box in front of Muen and chuckled softly, “Master, did you sleep well last night?”
“What do you think!”
Muen angrily pulled at the handcuffs on his hands and sneered, “If you take off these handcuffs for me and bring in a two-meter-wide bed, with velvet blankets and pillows on it, instead of making me sit naked on the cold ground, maybe I’ll get used to it one day.”
“I’m sorry, but I can’t fulfill the young master’s request. After all, if I accidentally let the young master escape, I would be very, very sad.”
“I’m just a spoiled young master who’s been pampered by you, right?
Is this treatment necessary? Even death row inmates aren’t treated this miserably!”
“Being cautious never hurts.”
An slowly took out the breakfast from the food box, smiling, “Yesterday, I noticed that the young master seemed a bit tired, so I specially prepared a Ten-ingredient tonic soup for the young master.”
“Ten-ingredient tonic soup?”
“Yes, I read about it in a book. It’s basically a soup made from ingredients like tiger whip, ox whip, goblin whip, troll whip, and Morolita giant bear whip. It’s said to be very beneficial for men.”
“What’s a Morolita giant bear?”
“It’s a kind of magical beast. It’s said that when a male Morolita giant bear is in heat and can’t find a mate, there will be a lot more tree hollows around its habitat overnight. So, it’s also commonly known as the Tree Hole Giant Bear.”
“Tree holes…” Muen didn’t want to ask how tree holes were formed anymore.
He lowered his head, watching as An delicately opened the container lid with slender hands and poured the foul-smelling black soup into the bowl.
For some reason, as the soup flowed, he felt his heart trembling along with it. “Are you sure it’s safe to mix all these things together and drink them?”
“Of course it is,” An replied. “Master, you don’t know, but actually, since you were ten years old, I’ve been secretly adding these things to your food. Of course, considering your age, I didn’t add much.”
“What?” Muen’s face changed drastically. “Since I was ten?”
So, he had been drinking this so-called Ten-ingredient tonic soup for a whole eight years!
“It’s always better to be prepared in advance. Actually, what I wanted to add the most was dragon penis, but unfortunately, dragons aren’t easy to catch. I’ll try to get some for the young master to taste if there’s a chance in the future.”
“Don’t talk about catching dragons so casually, I’m really scared!”
“Why would the young master be afraid? As long as the young master behaves, I will never harm the young master.” An lifted the soup bowl and offered the spoon to Muen.
“Come on, young master, open your mouth, ahh—”
“I’m not drinking it!” Muen shook his head, avoiding the spoon.
“Who knows if there will be any aftereffects from drinking this stuff too much! Maybe the original owner was so dumb because of this so-called Ten-ingredient tonic soup.”
“Not drinking?” An’s smiling face suddenly froze.
She bent down, locking eyes with Muen at close range. In those captivating beautiful eyes, Muen saw deep darkness flowing, as if it could surge out at any moment and devour everything.
“Are you sure?”
Although the words were devoid of any explicit threat, Muen felt as if a sharp knife was poised at his heart. Any wrong answer would result in an immediate plunge into icy dread.
“No, I’ll drink, I’ll drink.”
Muen nodded with a sheepish smile, then leaned forward, making an effort to swallow the Ten-ingredient tonic soup from the spoon.
A real man can bend and yield. It’s just a mere Ten-ingredient tonic soup, what’s so difficult about drinking it? He had been drinking it for eight years already, what difference would this one make?
Hmm…
Surprisingly, it tasted quite good.
…
After feeding Muen spoonful by spoonful of the Ten-ingredient tonic soup, An suddenly stood up. Before Muen could fully comprehend what was happening, he saw An’s maid outfit fall to the ground, revealing her pristine body.
“Again?” Muen couldn’t help but widen his eyes in disbelief and frustration. “How long has it been?”
An wasn’t even wearing underwear.
She had planned this all along!
“There’s no other way.”
An licked her crimson lips, slowly crawling towards Muen, her gaze teasing.
“I want to leave my mark on the young master as soon as possible, something that belongs only to me~”
“You wicked woman, don’t come any closer, ugh…”
“Mmm… the young master says no with his mouth, but his body is quite honest~”
“I… I’m not…”
“Is that so? Hmm… but the young master is moving on his own…”
“I… I couldn’t…”
…
Two hours later.
…
After finishing the work, An was satisfied and put on her shirt.
Muen looked up at the ceiling, her eyes dull, like a girl who had been violated by a bad guy, feeling that her life was hopeless.
As if she felt that what she did was indeed a bit too much for Muen, An squatted beside Muen, held her cheek with her little hand, and said with a touch of apology.
“It seems that I went too far towards the young master.”
“…”
Muen gave her a disdainful glance but remained silent.
“The young master’s silence makes me feel uneasy.”
Muen rolled his eyes again.
Uneasy conscience? After all the wicked things you’ve done to me, do you even have a conscience?
“In that case, how about I fulfill a small request from the young master?”
Muen’s eyes lit up. “I want freedom…”
“No, that’s not possible.”
An extended her finger and pressed it against Muen’s lips.
“As I said, it’s a small request.”
“Then release the handcuffs.”
“No.”
“I want clothes.”
“No.”
“I want a bed.”
“No.”
“Nothing is allowed!”
Muen wailed:
“Just how small do my requests have to be according to you?”
“I’ll think about it.”
After pondering for a moment, An said, “Probably to the extent of being able to decide what to have for lunch.”
“…That’s really small.”Muen sighed, “But it’s better than nothing.”
“Does this mean the young master has made a decision?”
“Well, sort of.”
“What is it then?”
“Speaking of which, autumn is approaching soon.”
Muen didn’t answer immediately, instead choosing to keep An in suspense.
“At this time in previous years, I seem to have already been boating on Lake Beipole, enjoying the breathtaking scenery while tasting the delicious autumn fish caught from it.”
“Does the young master want to eat fish from Lake Beipole?”
“Ah, the fish in autumn are the fattest and most delicious. If steamed and paired with the red wine from Count Locke’s estate, it would be a delightful feast.”
“But Lake Beipole is so far away. If we were to have fish delivered…”
“Ah, last year, I was sailing on the lake with such vigor, and now I’m confined to this small prison. How sad and pitiful life has become. What meaning is there in living like this? I might as well be dead.”
“Well…”
Despite the twitch in her eye, An maintained her smile.
“I’ll get the fish for you. Please be patient, young master.”
“Oh.”
Muen abruptly stopped lamenting and looked at An, raising an eyebrow.
“Then I’ll wait, An.”
After finishing the work, An was satisfied and put on her shirt.
Muen looked up at the ceiling, her eyes dull, like a girl who had been violated by a bad guy, feeling that her life was hopeless.
