The Cannon Fodder Turns His Sister Into A Soaring Phoenix C114

Chapter 114: The protagonist has another private meeting with his senior brother

Ye Anping ignored Xiao Tian entirely and continued looking at Feng Yudie silently. Despite his bruised and swollen face, Jiang Yu quickly bowed and saluted, “This senior, I am the young master of Jiang Mansion, Jiang Yu. May I ask how you call me senior?”

“My surname is Ye,” Ye Anping replied truthfully, then squinted slightly and asked in doubt, “The young master of Jiang Mansion?”

“Yes! I…”

Before Jiang Yu could explain about the impersonation, Ye Anping raised his hand to interrupt, “Many people have been trying to impersonate Young Master Jiang these days. Are you one of them?”

“Ah…” Jiang Yu was stunned and quickly shook his head, explaining, “Senior, I am real. The one in Jiang Mansion now is fake!”

“Do you have any evidence?”

“This…”

“Do you have a token?”

“…”

“Do the people in Jiang Mansion recognize your face?”

“…”

“Since you don’t have any, it’s just your word against his,” Ye Anping shrugged, delivering a harsh reprimand.

He then turned to Feng Yudie and remarked, “Senior Sister Feng, you believed him just like that? And you even helped him kick someone’s house door.”

Feng Yudie, hearing this, furrowed her brows, shot a disapproving look at Ye Anping, but still followed up on his words, “To be honest, I now think he might be an imposter too.”

“Ah?!”

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yu stared at Feng Yudie with wide eyes.

“Senior!! I am the real one…”

At this point, Jiang Yu looked at Ye Anping and Feng Yudie, sensing their annoyance. He decided not to speak further. After hesitating, he bowed to both of them, wiped his eyes, and turned around to run away.

“Junior… Junior will not disturb the two seniors anymore, suck–”

Watching Jiang Yu run away while crying, Ye Anping sighed, and Feng Yudie pinched the bridge of her nose, glanced at him, and said, “The ones who robbed him were you and Junior Sister Pei, right?”

“Guess.”

“I guess your size!” Feng Yudie, looking disgusted, hit his shoulder with her fist and asked, “Didn’t you and Junior Sister Pei go on a sect mission? Why are you here? And why are you pretending to be the Daoist couple and impersonating the young master of Jiang Mansion?”

“Sit down, and I’ll tell you slowly. I’ll treat you to roast chicken. Are you up for it?”

“Um?!”

Hearing the words “roast chicken,” Feng Yudie’s eyes lit up.

“Why not go? I won’t refuse a free meal. You’ve earned quite a bit, right? I want to eat at the best restaurant in Duchun City.”

“Okay, but you’ll have to do me a favor in a few days.”

“What are you up to again?”

“Sit down, and I’ll tell you.”

After strolling down a street, Ye Anping, accompanied by Feng Yudie, arrived at a restaurant with decent decor. He instructed the server to prepare a private room, and they went up to the second floor to take their seats.

Once a few plates of appetizers and roasted chicken were brought to their table, Feng Yudie, without hesitation, placed the entire plate of roasted chicken in front of herself, leaving a chicken butt for Ye Anping.

“So, why did you and Junior Sister Pei decide to pretend to be Daoist Companions?” She inquired.

“Just for convenience,” Ye Anping replied.

“How about adding me to the mix?” She suggested.

Ye Anping hesitated momentarily, raising an eyebrow, “Add you?”

“I’m also pretending to be Daoist companions with Junior Sister Pei. We’ll stay in Jiang Mansion for the next few days. We can even invite Senior Sister Xiao over. I can help you and Senior Sister Xiao get together. Besides, I don’t feel safe staying in Chilong Mansion,” Feng Yudie explained between chicken bites.

“Oh? Not safe?” Ye Anping inquired.

“Yes, a demon cultivator in Chilong Mansion yesterday, a practitioner from the Heavenly Demon Sect. Senior Sister Xiao and I went to see it. It’s said to be two disciples from the Xuanxing Sect,” Feng Yudie elaborated.

At this point, Feng Yudie paused in her chicken-chewing action, and Xiao Tian, perched on Ye Anping’s shoulder, sneered, “It’s probably Ye kid, huh? Right, Ye kid, is it you?”

Ye Anping wanted to nod but realized Xiao Tian asked, so he remained silent. When Feng Yudie asked, he nodded in agreement.

“It’s you?” She questioned.

“Yes, it’s us,” Ye Anping confirmed.

“Why are you getting into trouble with a demon cultivator again?” she asked.

“Your intuition is quite accurate,” Ye Anping replied.

Shrugging slightly, Ye Anping looked around and, for added security, placed a soundproof talisman on the private room’s door before continuing, “There is indeed an issue in Chilong Mansion. In short, Li Feng wanted to use a blood sacrifice to prolong his life, so he made a deal with the demon cultivator.”

“Ah, that explains it,” Feng Yudie nodded solemnly. “I told Senior Sister Xiao something similar, but she didn’t believe it.”

“She doesn’t believe it?” Ye Anping questioned.

“Yes, because Li Feng has a good relationship with her mother, she doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with him,” Feng Yudie explained.

Is it because of favorability issues? Ye Anping pondered silently.

Following the plot’s progression, Feng Yudie should sense that something is amiss and inform Xiao Yunluo. Although Xiao Yunluo might be skeptical, she would start secretly investigating and probing the situation within Chilong Mansion. Later, she might even use Li Longling’s authority to sneak into the suppression array behind Chilong Mansion to assess the situation.

Continuing to nibble on the roasted chicken, Feng Yudie asked, “So, is Senior Sister Xiao’s mother also colluding with the demon cultivator?”

Ye Anping blinked at the question, took a moment to process, and then replied, “No, you’re overthinking.”

“Why did her mother let her participate in the Chilong Conference then?” Feng Yudie persisted.

“I think her mother probably didn’t think Li Feng could be colluding with a demon cultivator before, but she might be sensing it now,” Ye Anping explained.

“Are you prepared to stop Li Feng?” She inquired.

“Not me, but us,” he corrected.

Feng Yudie immediately shook her head, saying, “He’s a Nascent Soul cultivator. I can’t handle that.”

“More accurately, he’s a Nascent Soul cultivator whose lifespan is about to run out,” Ye Anping clarified.

After silence, Feng Yudie asked, “What if no one stops him?”

“The area around Chilong Mansion will become a dead land, and the Western Region will once again be eroded by extremely flaming spiritual energy, causing immense suffering to millions of lives,” Ye Anping explained.

“…,” Feng Yudie was thoughtful.

“How about joining us?” Ye Anping suggested.

“Hmm…” Feng Yudie thought momentarily, glanced at Ye Anping, and grinned, “Count me in! Even if it’s just for Junior Sister Li! And having you around gives me an inexplicable sense of security.”

“…Go back and tell Li Longling to meet me in the mountains outside Duchun City in three days,” Ye Anping instructed.

“Why not come with me to meet her?” Feng Yudie asked.

Ye Anping shrugged, “I need to lure out a demon cultivator. Yesterday, I ensured my junior sister left some information in Chilong Mansion. Other demon cultivators would want to find us for revenge, so they’ll likely use Li Longling to approach us.”

Feng Yudie raised her eyebrows, then suddenly realized, “Is that person called Wu Yue?”

Ye Anping raised his eyebrows and asked, “Have you seen her?”

“I could tell something was off about her at a glance,” Feng Yudie admitted.
