The Cannon Fodder Turns His Sister Into A Soaring Phoenix C125

Chapter 125: Chilong Mansion, the end and the beginning of the chapter

The sun was setting over the western mountains, and the sky was getting dark. In the back hall of Chilong Mansion, Li Feng remained seated in the center of the Candle Lamps, staring at the remaining hundred or so lamps. Suddenly, a cold wind blew, and two more candles flickered and turned into blue smoke. Li Feng couldn’t shake off a sense of unease. His eyebrows furrowed, and simultaneously, he heard three gentle knocks from the palace door behind him.

“Longling… come in,” he said.

After a moment of hesitation, the door creaked open, and Li Longling entered the hall and closed the door behind her. After a few steps forward, she lifted her skirt slightly and knelt with a thud.

“Longling, what are you doing?” Li Feng asked.

“Father,” Li Longling spoke after a moment of silence, “Was Wu Yue arranged by you to be by my side?”

Li Feng was utterly unaware of this matter, having recently secluded himself from meditation. However, hearing Wu Yue’s name and seeing Li Longling kneeling behind him, he could guess she might have learned the truth.

Maybe she had no evidence, but…

Three more candles suddenly went out. Li Feng closed his eyes, clenched his teeth, and released them.

“…”

Li Longling waited for her father’s response without saying anything more. She remained until the last rays of twilight vanished from the window, leaving only the glow of the ever-burning candles in the palace.

“Father, she held the jade token you gave her, and she’s your confidant, but she’s a demon cultivator,” Li Longling finally spoke.

“…”

“Father, don’t you want to tell me something?” She asked.

“Longling, what do you want to hear?” He responded.

Li Longling sniffed, not expecting to be asked back. She wanted to hear her father’s rebuttal, even if it meant being scolded. But his response seemed to be an implicit acceptance of everything.

“Exhale,” she took a deep breath, “Why? I want to know why.”

“For you,” he replied.

“…”

Puff puff–

The ever-burning candles were quickly extinguished one after another, but now, in Li Feng’s eyes, he felt that it didn’t matter.

“Longling, you have been blind since you were a child. I have found countless ways for over ten years, but still can’t cure your eyes. My lifespan will be over in another month. You will never be able to rely on me again.”

Li Longling looked shocked. She had no idea about Li Feng’s worries.

“…So, you and the demon cultivator…”

“I have no choice.” Li Feng stated silently, “I am a cultivator with four spiritual roots. I can count the number of four spiritual root cultivators in the Immortal Family who can conceive babies with one hand. If I want to continue living, I can only use the methods of demonic cultivation and the method of blood sacrifice to force a breakthrough.”

“Blood sacrifice?”

“This Chilong Conference is to gather sacrifices. I used the Heaven Splitting Sword as bait to attract the young masters and elders of hundreds of sects in the Western Regions. They will all become sacrifices.”

Li Longling pursed her lips and mustered the courage to interrupt, “Father, can you please stop? Have you forgotten that you drove the demon cultivators to the Eastern Region with Danyue Shangxian? My mother also did it because of…”

Li Feng frowned slightly and immediately interrupted, “Should I wait for death? After death, you will be all alone. You have cultivated your Qi, and your eyes cannot see. Can you support Chilong Mansion alone? Can you survive alone? ”

“I…”

“Father, you…”

“Long Ling, before you have a baby and find a cure for your eyes, Daddy will protect you, even if you go to the Eastern Region.”

Having said this, Li Feng raised his sword with his hand. Several strands of spiritual energy flew out of his sleeves, surrounding Li Longling, and finally drew the ground into a prison, trapping her in the center.

Although Li Longling couldn’t see it, she still felt the spiritual energy. She suddenly looked frightened and asked, “Father, what do you want to do?”

“You have to stay here for the next seven days. This is the only place not affected by the formation.”

With that said, Li Feng stood up, glanced at the remaining less than a hundred ever-burning candle lanterns, walked around Li Longling, and walked out of the palace gate.

Li Longling, hearing Li Feng’s footsteps, quickly stretched out her hand to pull it away, but her hand touched the edge of the restriction and was bounced back by force.

“Ah–”

“…”

Li Feng walked to the door, glanced back at her, furrowed his brows, hesitated momentarily, but eventually pushed open the palace gate and stepped out. Walking into the corridor outside the palace gate, Li Feng encountered a maid from Chilong Mansion waiting a bit further away.

Seeing him emerge, the maid quickly approached and saluted, “Sect Master.”

Li Feng looked at her, pondered momentarily, and said, “I’ve confined Longling for seven days. Spend some time talking with her.”

“Ah? Confined?” The maid looked surprised. “Why… why? Did the lady do something wrong?”

“Do you have the right to ask?”

“…”

The maid immediately shrank her neck, cautiously raised her head, and observed Li Feng’s serious expression. It was the first time she had seen him so stern, almost frightening.

Swallowing nervously, she reluctantly nodded, “Yes, this servant understands.”

Li Feng glanced at her and bypassed her, heading outside. Exiting the corridor led to a garden where Li Feng walked towards the moon-shaped gate. As he stepped through, he felt someone watching him. He turned his head in the direction of the gaze.

A silver-haired girl hid behind a tree, using two ginkgo leaves as a makeshift disguise. She quickly pulled her head back behind the tree when she noticed him looking.

Li Feng squinted, immediately appearing behind her. Looking up at her, he said, “Feng Yudie?”

“Ah…”

Feng Yudie hadn’t realized she was noticed. Thinking she hid well, she turned her head stiffly and chuckled, “Ah, haha—Master Li, I came to play with Junior Sister Li.”

Upon hearing this, Li Feng sneered and said, “With your and Xiao’s cultivation, it’s not enough to change anything. I advise you to take Xiao, leave Chilong Mansion immediately, and return to your Xuanxing Sect. This is the last warning.”

Feng Yudie pulled her head back, blinking rapidly in confusion, “Master Li Xian, what did you say?”

“Heh…”

Li Feng disdainfully snorted and walked towards the depth of the garden.
