The Cannon Fodder Turns His Sister Into A Soaring Phoenix C221

Chapter 221: Protagonist, talking about money hurts feelings

The cold wind in the forest was blowing fiercely, and snowflakes were swirling and falling. Before long, the five corpses in front of the old attic were buried beneath the accumulating snow.

Waiting for Yushuiting’s breath to be completely carried away by the chilly breeze, Ye Anping stripped a cloak of decent quality, relatively free of bloodstains, from one of the corpses. He then returned to Feng Yudie, who was seated against the tree trunk, and tossed it to her.

“Here, put this on,” He instructed.

“Okay!” Feng Yudie replied absentmindedly, reaching for the cloak to drape it over her shoulders. However, she forgot about her recently dislocated right wrist, which Ye Anping had just tended to.

With a careless motion, the cloak slipped from her grasp, whisked away by the gusty wind like a fluttering handkerchief in a comedic scene. Watching the cloak vanish into the sky, Feng Yudie grimaced in embarrassment, then sheepishly chuckled at Ye Anping.

“Young Master Ye, my hand’s not much help… um, hehe.”

Ye Anping was left speechless. He promptly leapt up, retrieved the airborne cloak, and returned to her, shaking it out.

“Turn around,” He instructed.

Feng Yudie propped up on her left hand, obediently turning her back to him. Ye Anping knelt, draping the cloak over Feng Yudie’s shoulders. Using his chest as her backrest, he deftly fastened the cloak’s ties around her chest, his hands moving from her shoulders to her front.

It was a simple act of assistance, but Feng Yudie interpreted it differently. As she felt the broad chest enveloping her back, she furrowed her brow. Turning her head, she realized Ye Anping’s face was close, almost touching her right shoulder, his breath warming her ear. She felt like she was being embraced by Ye Anping again, this time from behind.

After securing the cloak’s ties at the collar, Ye Anping lifted his head and found himself inches away from Feng Yudie’s face, her golden eyes fixed on him. It was then that he realized their current position seemed intimate.

The chilly wind continued to blow, their faces tingling as they exchanged wordless glances, both momentarily frozen in place.

After exchanging glances like that for a while, Feng Yudie pondered for a moment, then suddenly raised her eyebrows and broke the silence,

“Young Master Ye, are you feeling angry again? Hold the 30,000 spirit stones~.”

Ye Anping blinked speechlessly and simply ignored her, retracting his hand and casually pulling the cloak’s hood over her head. Then he stood up and asked,

“How’s the injury?”

Feng Yudie, holding onto her hood, shouted,

“Don’t change the topic! Did you just want to hug me to treat my yang energy secretly and then not want to pay me? That’s not okay. I’m onto you. Hurry up, thirty thousand spiritual stones, and charge them to my account.”

Ye Anping gritted his teeth slightly and replied cheerfully,

“…I’m just helping you put on your cloak.”

“But you hugged me, anyway, it’s 30,000~ Humph.”

“Your spirit is up, so you’re okay! Hide your hair. We have to rush to Qiongfeng.”

Feng Yudie frowned and stood up quickly,

“Then you should record thirty thousand spiritual stones for me first!”

Unfortunately, her legs were still weak, and she stumbled forward as soon as she stood up.

“Ouch~”

Seeing her like this, Ye Anping subconsciously raised his hands to support her shoulders to prevent her from falling. But after supporting her, he suddenly raised his eyebrows and replied,

“Well, I helped you with 30,000 spiritual stones, I just gave you 30,000 spiritual stones to set your bones, and I helped you wear a cloak with 30,000 spiritual stones. You owe me 60,000.”

Hearing this, Feng Yudie frowned, puffed her cheeks, and complained softly,

“This… Talking about spiritual stones hurts my feelings~.”

“You still have the nerve to say it!”

Feng Yudie pouted and said,

“I don’t care, anyway, you hugged me. I’m at a loss! Thirty thousand…”

Feng Yudie raised her left hand and held up three fingers, but looking at Ye Anping’s eyes, she hesitated for a while and then withdrew one finger,

“Then I’ll give you a cheaper price… twenty thousand!”

“…”

“Then ten thousand.”

Ye Anping really didn’t want to talk to her about this now, so he simply put on a calm attitude, waved his hand, and said in annoyance,

“Okay, okay, okay, ten thousand, remember it for you. Hey——”

Seeing that he agreed, the resentful look on Feng Yudie’s face, which was like that of a little daughter-in-law, disappeared instantly. Now, she just felt that she had taken advantage of Ye Anping, and she was very happy. She immediately narrowed her eyes and tilted her head at Ye Anping with a smile,

“Tsk.”

Ye Anping immediately rolled his eyes at her and bared his teeth in a smile as if he were reading. Afterwards, he looked at the sky and estimated that it was already almost two-quarters past Yin Shi. If he didn’t go to Qiongfeng Snow Summit, it might be too late.

He held Feng Yudie’s shoulders, looked up and down, and asked,

“How’s the injury?”

“Well… my legs are still a little soft, but they don’t hurt anymore.”

“Two-quarters of an hour!”

“Well, almost.”

Ye Anping lowered his eyes in thought for a moment, then glanced at Feng Yudie, who was now wearing a grey cloak. Seeing her silver hair cascading from the hood, he reached out to tuck her hair into the cloak and then handed her a mask.

“Remember your identity, Yushuiting, Yean’s Daoist companion.”

“Is this your Daoist companion?” Feng Yudie asked, blinking innocently.

“Yes,” He replied simply.

Having just received the benefit, Feng Yudie blinked and asked uncertainly, “More money!”

Ye Anping immediately frowned and shot her a stern look. Seeing his reaction, Feng Yudie quickly withdrew, shaking her head and saying, “No more~no more.”

Ye Anping sighed heavily. “Hey— we have a fight coming up. Listen to my commands and don’t act recklessly, got it?”

“Very good~” She replied cheerfully.

With her response, Ye Anping turned around, squatting with his back to her. He placed his hands on his waist and turned his head to say, “Hop on.”

“Huh! Are you going to carry me on your back? Then…”

Ye Anping gritted his teeth and quickly threatened, “If you dare mention spirit stones again, I’ll carry you over in a sack!”

“Um…” Feng Yudie murmured, quickly abandoning the topic.

She cautiously climbed onto his back, lips pressed together in a mischievous smile.

Ye Anping retrieved his spirit sword from his storage pouch and then lifted Feng Yudie’s thigh, holding his breath as he stood up. She wrapped her arms around his neck to steady herself.

Was she really this light? Even the junior sister was a bit heavier than her… Ye Anping couldn’t help but glance at Feng Yudie, resting her chin on his shoulder. He then leapt onto the flying sword, carrying her on his back as they soared towards Qiongfeng in the west.

“Recover well. Ultimately, I’ll need your Nine Heavens Sword Art to break the situation.”

“Very good~” Feng Yudie chimed in again.

And with that, they flew off into the distance, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
