The Cannon Fodder Turns His Sister Into A Soaring Phoenix C222

Chapter 222: Xiao Tian, too anxious to eat the wedding banquet

Above the snowy forest on the solitary mountain, the sound of a flying sword slicing through the air stirred up gusts of wind and snow, skimming along the treetops at a low altitude.

Ye Anping was completely focused on controlling the sword. At the same time, Feng Yudie, lying on his back, took the opportunity to concentrate on regulating her breath, using her spiritual energy to repair the meridians that had been injured moments ago swiftly.

Xiao Tian, nestled inside Feng Yudie’s cloak, wiped tears of joy from its eyes.

—Feng Yudie from her family was finally together with Ye Anping.

When Ye Anping spoke to Feng Yudie earlier, it had been hovering above them the whole time. It saw and remembered everything.

There was a saying: those directly involved are often confused, while bystanders have a clear view.

When it thought of Feng Yudie before, she wasn’t even willing to be carried by a man, let alone come close to one. But now, she obediently nestled on Ye Anping’s back.

As for Ye Anping, although he always pretended not to see it and wore a bitter expression whenever Feng Yudie was around, he would immediately step up to help and take care of her whenever she was injured or in danger.

How was this not a match made in heaven? A few days ago, it discussed Ye Anping and Feng Yudie’s relationship with Lao Jiu.

It was different from Lao Jiu. It was born with Feng Yudie, the same age as her, but it had inherited the legacy of the previous Heavenly Dao Scroll Spirits, making it slightly more mature than Feng Yudie.

Lao Jiu was an immortal old dragon, following the legacies of countless emperors, almost witnessing all major events recorded in the scrolls of heaven.

Its few words had also awakened Xiao Tian,

… …

“Lao Jiu, you can’t force these things.”

“What do you mean?”

“Understanding the Dao requires enlightenment, and understanding love requires emotional maturity.” Lao Jiu shook its dragon head and continued, “Yudie is at the rebellious age of sixteen or seventeen. The more you push her, the more resistant she’ll become. She hasn’t realized her feelings yet. Love is like enlightenment. It requires the right timing and patience…”

… …

Xiao Tian naturally understood Lao Jiu’s words.

—If it was destiny, then let it be.

But Xiao Tian didn’t have the patience of an ancient dragon that had lived for thousands of years like Lao Jiu.

It was extremely anxious. It just wanted, right now, immediately, for the two to be paired up!

It yearned to see the adorable and bashful appearance of Yudie, to witness Yudie’s blushing, leaning on Ye Anping’s obedient demeanour, and to witness the two of them affectionately kissing and embracing each other!

As she fantasized about these scenes, Xiao Tian couldn’t help but chirp and poke his head out from Feng Yudie’s collar,

“Yudie, kiss him quickly!”

?

Ye Anping, who was previously focused on wielding his sword, and Feng Yudie, who was lying on his back with her eyes closed, both had question marks pop up above their heads when they heard this.

What was gotten into it?

Feng Yudie immediately rolled her eyes at it, but after a moment’s pause, she suddenly realized that it might not be appropriate to be holding onto Ye Anping’s neck. Though she couldn’t quite articulate why, she just felt it wasn’t right.

So, after pondering for a moment, she said,

“Young Master Ye, I’ve almost recovered from my injury. I can fly on my own.”

Ye Anping readily agreed without hesitation and withdrew his hands from her thighs,

“Um.”

Feng Yudie lightly stepped onto the hilt of his flying sword, then hopped to one side, summoned her flying sword, and found her balance before stabilizing herself and accelerating towards Qiong Peak along with Ye Anping.

“Ah!”

Watching this scene, Xiao Tian felt aggrieved and wanted to smack himself a few times. Tianyi, oh Tianyi! Why did you come out? If you hadn’t come out, Yudie would probably have stayed obediently on Ye Anping’s back.

Ugh—stupid Feng Yudie!”

Xiao Tian pursed his lips, took a breath, cursed, then turned and entered Feng Yudie’s mind to find Lao Jiu and sob.

Feng Yudie ignored it and turned to look at Ye Anping, who was gazing ahead, and asked,

“Young Master Ye?”

“Um.”

“Just now, with that girl, you actually gave her a choice! I thought you would have just chopped her down without a word.”

Ye Anping glanced over, replying,

“If you hadn’t just shouted from the side, she probably would have joined the five people in front of the attic.”

Feng Yudie chuckled, saying,

“Mainly… I don’t think she’s bad. She seems more like someone who was duped into joining.”

“You know she’s not bad!” Feng Yudie blinked, then said, “I’m very intuitive! I’m excellent at judging people. I can tell whether they’re good or bad at a glance.”

Ye Anping glanced at her as if implying she was judging by appearances. Still, upon reflection, he realized that Feng Yudie indeed had a keen ability to discern people, almost like having a sixth sense.

After all, in the game plot, her intuition was remarkably sharp. She often noticed peculiar details, like when she investigated the case earlier and observed that one of the twenty-seven people had a missing organ. Normally, people would wait to check for missing organs, right?

Ye Anping replied coldly, “I saw her covering Yun Yiyi with a quilt when she tied her up, and she didn’t intervene when I killed the late-stage foundation-building cultivator. So, I gave her a chance to choose. Whether I kill her or not doesn’t really matter. It’s just the difference between one more strike and one less strike.”

Feng Yudie paused for a moment, then inexplicably covered her mouth and chuckled, “Hehe…”

“What’s so funny?” Ye Anping inquired.

“Why say so much? Isn’t it that Young Master Ye spared her because she’s a girl?” Feng Yudie teased.

“No,” Ye Anping retorted.

“Oh, it’s nothing~ I get it, I get it.” Feng Yudie grinned mischievously, waving her hands. “Young Master Ye also has a soft side~ Hehe, I’ve found Young Master Ye’s weakness.”

“???”

“…” Ye Anping’s expression remained stoic, but internally, he felt extremely irritated at her flippant tone. “Weakness!”

Feng Yudie giggled, blinking provocatively. “Hmm!”

Ye Anping promptly reached out and pinched her cheek, giving it a forceful twist of 180 degrees.

“Ouch, ouch, ouch~~ It hurts, it hurts~~”

“Still feeling weak!” Ye Anping quipped.

“Young Master Ye, you’re getting desperate!” Feng Yudie winced. “That means… Ouch~~”

“…” Ye Anping twisted his hand another thirty degrees.

Feng Yudie quickly felt like her mouth was about to be stretched out of shape by him and hastily cried out, “I give up!! I give up!!~”

Ye Anping glanced at her and withdrew his hand. Once her cheek was released, Feng Yudie pouted and rubbed her reddened face with resentment, then grimaced at him, saying, “Fine~.”

“Stop fooling around. Close your mouth, pull your hood tightly, especially your hair, and hide it well,” Ye Anping instructed.

“Oh, alright,” Feng Yudie replied earnestly.

However, she received a surprised glance from Ye Anping, causing her to immediately duck her head and make a cross over her mouth, indicating she wouldn’t speak anymore.

Ye Anping sighed, feeling exhausted, and said, “Phew—let’s go down.”

All things aside, so far Yudie is the sharpest one when it comes to judging Anping’s character. So if not for her master’s dumb child-raising strategy, she would be the smartest one (Anping is out of the question, because he knows everything about the plot, so he’s a cheater)
