Shut up, malevolent dragon! I don’t want to have any more children with you V2C80 Part 1

Chapter 80: The Melkwe family’s ancestral one versus three ( Part 1 )

During their playful banter, there was more movement near the Imperial City gates.
They both stopped and looked down.
It was a relatively simple carriage that stopped. Three people got off the carriage.
Leon glanced at their outfits and observed their stance and movements, guessing they were likely soldiers who had just returned from the frontlines.
Whether they were part of the Dragon-slaying Army, he couldn’t tell.
But Muen immediately recognized them.

“It’s the ‘Sanji Special Forces,'” Muen said seriously, mentioning a name that wasn’t so serious.
Leon was surprised. “Mountain… mountain chicken? What mountain chicken? Honey, are you hungry?”
“It’s not mountain chicken, it’s ‘Sanji,'” Muen explained seriously.
“After you disappeared for five years, the Empire gradually gained the upper hand in the Dragon-Man War, thanks to these three people.”
Leon raised an eyebrow. “Are they… really strong?”
“Yes, according to the survivors of the defeated tribes, these three are incredibly strong, like a return to the ‘era of black armor rule.'”
Ah~
Leon secretly sighed, reminiscing about the era of black armor.
After a moment, Leon asked, “Do you have any detailed information on these three?”
“Well… I only know their names.”
Muen thought for a moment before saying,
“Jini, Jitai, Jimei.”
“… Those names sound familiar, reminding me of an old friend.”
Casmod, bring your second daughter to court.

“‘Three Musketeers’ is just a nickname based on those three guys’ names.”
Three days later, the father and daughters regrouped.
Noa explained the detailed information about those three individuals to Leon.
“Their actual codename is ‘Dagger.’ As the name suggests, they were trained by the Empire fifteen years ago, which is five years after you disappeared. Each of them possesses exceptional individual combat abilities.”
After a pause, Noa added, “Some say… they even surpass the Black Armor from back then.”
“Mm… huh?!”
General Leon instantly perked up, fully awake.
“Who said that? Who said that?”
Noa, having anticipated his reaction, casually spread her hands. “Even the defeated dragon clans said so.”
“However, while these guys are strong, the power they use… seems to be somewhat unstable.”
Aurora adjusted her glasses and added, “A few years ago, I happened to witness one of their battles. The coordination between the three was flawless, but halfway through, the captain, Guinea, seemed to lose control of his power, forcing the fight to end hastily. And, sis, didn’t you feel the same? The power they use—”
Noa continued her sister’s sentence, “Doesn’t belong to them.”
“Doesn’t belong to them? What do you mean?”
“It’s just a feeling. Their magic is very strange, but I can’t pinpoint exactly what’s off.” Aurora said. “But that’s not the point. The point is, the Dagger Unit coming to the capital this time must be for some sort of commendation, right?”
As Leon had said to Moon a few days ago, front-line soldiers, no matter their rank, cannot enter the capital freely unless for a commendation ceremony.
Doesn’t matter if you’re the ‘Three Musketeers’ or some other elite squad, none of you can bypass that rule.
“Are you thinking of sneaking in during the ceremony?”
Leon said, “That might be unrealistic. The commendation ceremony will be held inside the capital, and during the event, no one is allowed to carry weapons inside, not to mention they’ll be frisking everyone.”
Noa shook her head. “Entering the capital is already impossible. The barrier there is far too complex; even Xiao Guang can’t break it. So, we’ll have to resort to our second plan: capture and interrogate.”
“Capture those three guys?”
“No, the three members of the Dagger Unit don’t know the location of the Heartguard Dragon Scale.”
Noa said, “But their superior might.”
“Their superior?”
“A man named Nacho Salaman,” Noa said. “He’s in charge of communication between the Dragon Slayer Army and the capital. Theoretically, the entire Dragon Slayer Army falls under his jurisdiction. Nacho—hmm? Why do you look like you know this Nacho?”
Leon stroked his chin, frowning slightly. He nodded, “Yeah, twenty years ago, he was just a clerk in the Dragon Slayer Army. Didn’t expect him to climb to the top of their administrative ranks.”
‘The top dog’ or ‘the boss’ was just an easy way to explain it.
In reality, managing an army of hundreds of thousands like the Dragon Slayer Army couldn’t be done by one person alone.
Back in the day, Leon’s official title was ‘Battlefield Commander-in-Chief,’ which could be roughly understood as “Once the guns start blazing, even the major generals have to follow my lead.”
Outside of the battlefield, however, there were plenty of other bigwigs in charge.
The position Noa had just mentioned, “responsible for communication between the Dragon Slayer Army and the royal family,” could be understood as one of those ‘top dog’ roles.
So this Nacho… from a small-time clerk to one of the bosses, he was a man focused on his career.
“The higher his position, the more likely he knows where the Heartguard Dragon Scale is,” Aurora said.
“Mm, if we plan to capture Nacho for interrogation, do you have his schedule?” Leon asked.
“My informant brought new intelligence yesterday. After the commendation ceremony, Nacho will host a banquet for the three members of the Dagger Unit at the ‘Hisna Manor’ outside the capital. Every time there’s a commendation, Nacho does this.”
Leon suddenly understood, “That’s indeed a tradition of the Dragon Slayer Army. We did the same back in the day. So, the banquet Nacho is throwing for them will be our chance, huh?”
“Exactly. But even with a clear target, we’ll need a thorough and detailed plan. Nacho will rent out the entire manor, and the guards will cover every exit.”
“Mm, leave that to me. I can get close to Nacho without being detected.” Leon said.
“Good. Nacho will arrive at the manor early, and that should be your best chance to approach him,” Noa said.
Leon was taken aback, “Is this also intel from your informant?”
“Yes, over the years, Nacho always arrives early at the manor. Not out of courtesy, just to seize control of the event.”
Noa shrugged, “This guy seems to want to control everyone and everything, no matter where he is.”
“To have dug so deep into the head of the Dragon Slayer Army, I’m getting more and more curious about your informant.”
Leon asked casually, “So, when can I meet this mysterious figure?”
“No rush. Once we’ve captured Nacho and she’s wrapped up her work, you’ll probably get to meet her.”
Noa said, “Until then, you can keep your curiosity piqued.”
Leon thought to himself, If my eldest daughter had been born in a peaceful era, she’d probably be an excellent serial novelist—she knows how to keep people in suspense.
